Replying to: del3 (Aug 21, 2006 7:18 pm) It all started November 06. It happened 5 times within a month. I took it to south coast acura a month ago, they said nothing wrong w/ it and unless i know which part is wrong they can't do anything about it. Come on, if i knew which part is wrong, i wouldn't need to take the car back to dealer. Same thing happened again at 2 A.M. so I leave the car there didnt try to restart it again coz the south coast acura service advicer told me not to just tow it to the dealer. I did what he said, I had the car tow to Thomas Acura. Talked to service advicer name Chris Martin. They run the same test again as south coast acura, the result is the same. everything is fine nothing wrong w/ my car. Chris said it's NORMAL for a TSX to take a longer time to start up. If you leave the car set there for 1~2 days when you tried to start up, you will have to hold the key a little longer, sometimes it even take up to 15~20 seconds. I'm not good with cars but I know for sure it's not right to take 15~20 second to start up a car so I called the selling dealer. The service advicer whom I talked to was nice, but since I live so far from there, he said I should take it to the cloest dealer so I call Thomas Acura again and I talk to the same service advicer. He sounds like he doesn't want me to take the car in to do futher check up and he even said I can go in to the dealer now and he will start up any NEW or USED car right infront of me to show me it's NORMAL to take a longer time to start up the car. When I told him I would like to make an appointment to get a futher check up for my car and also get a loaner's car, he wouldn't even tell me when is the next available time. Is it normal like this, I know it's not but how come they can't find out the problem, that I have to hold the key a little longer when I start up my car? it only has 14000 miles on it. I bought it brand NEW. and don't go to Thomas Acura, if you wanna go dont get the service advicer name Chris Martin. Not a happy experience with him.

Replying to: qtmochi (Feb 26, 2007 3:17 pm) I bought my car new also and this happened within the first month. I couldn't prove that it was a Lemon because I couldn't record the problem on tape like the attorney had suggested. I tell all my friends DO NOT BUY ACURA!!! My new car was suppose to be my baby but it was a big let down. Another friend just bought the MDX and is having issues already. Save money and buy a LEXUS instead, I wish I did. I hope this posts helps! You have to make them take you seriously if not talk to the Manager and keep going up the chain of command.

Replying to: qtmochi (Feb 26, 2007 3:17 pm) From my limited and admittedly anecdotal experience with my own '04, I've never had this problem. The OEM battery is kind of weak for the car, but the car always cranks the first time, and my car routinely sits for five days at a time due to my having access to a company vehicle. Hope you are able to resolve your problem. |

When driving my 2004 tsx I noticed a Strange burning smell inside the car. Later when I turned my lights on I noticed that the buttons for the radio and climate control were not lighting up, strangly only the buttons are not lit. The display for the radio/climate control are lit. Is this a short or is it just a fuse??

Hi fellow TSX owners, I got a 2007 TSX last month and have about 1700 miles on it. I commute 80 miles per day round trip to work and the last two days when I've left the garage at work to drive home I've experienced a creaking or rattling sound in the dashboard which sounds like it's coming from somewhere near the "A" pillar on the passenger side. It is worse when I accelerate and it continues for the entire drive across the city and then for several miles on the freeway. About 45 minutes to an hour into the commute home, the noise stops. When it is happening it is very irritating and needless to say the drive is no fun at all - just stressful. It can even be heard over the radio. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this in his/her TSX and if so were you able to have Acura fix it? Thanks in advance for any replies! PS. Aside from the dashboard rattle/creak the car is very nice and I love driving it, but I won't live with a brand new $30,000 car with a rattling dashboard. No new car regardless of the price should have a rattling dashboard. |
