what are they doing for $720.00-hope alot more than what I paid $200.00 for my 30,000 mile service (B12 service) It included oil/filter change, rotate/balance tires, replace air and pollen filters, check fluids and refill if necessary, check out car, hand wash and vacuum it. I got to use a loaner car while my tsx was being serviced

2008 Acura TSX with Navi by ramstein317

Currently, I am leasing the 2008 Acura TSX from August of 2007, and it has about 12,100 miles on it. I have it leased for 24K per year for 36 months. However, would it really make a difference if I get my tires rotated, and balanced, and alignment at a local firestone store, and not by the Acura dealer?? Only thing that I do is get an oil change at the dealer, so atleast that way they can re-sent the maintenance minder. Any suggestions? I think my car needs balancing, and alignment. Please advice. Thanks...

you do not have to go to the acura dealer to get service. At the rate you are driving you will probably have to replace your tires before the lease is up. I get the tires on my 06 rotated and balanced by the dealer every 6,000-7000 miles. Never heard of a 24K per year lease-may I ask what your payments are. I average 30,000 miles a year so I buy my cars. (no lease)

Nj2a2nc: Well, I have the 24K per year for 3 years on my lease agreement. The reason why, because my work is about 45 miles one way, and I rather have a lease and add up the miles on a "lease", car. However the tsx that I have is a 2008 Tsx with Navigation. I am paying between $400-$450 per month which includes taxes. Let me know what you think. So, I guess it doesn't really matter where I gete my tires rotated, balanced, or Alignment? So far, I have about 12,100 miles, and needs balancing on the car, or should I get the tires alignment? Thanks..

The main reason I do not lease is the reason you lease. If you are happy with your choice then excellent, I love my Milano red/eb 6spd w/nav. I drive from NC to NJ/PA and back every few weeks (650 miles one way+the extra miles while I am there) From where I live in NC I have to either drive to Wilmington (25 miles one way) or Jacksonville (40 miles one way)to go shopping. Because of traffic it is faster to go to Jacksonville.
In May we are going to travel to CA via the southern states in the tsx. Last May we did a 20 state tour (6,177 miles) NC to SD. Our goal is to see every state.
Just a suggestion, unless you hit a curb or went thru pot-holes-only get the tires rotated and balanced. I have it done by my dealer as they seem to do an excellent job. I used to take my cars to sears. always had to go back 2-3times to get the tires re-balanced. I would never pay $400-450 a month leased or otherwise.( IMO) My payments are for 60 months at $200.00 but I pay more to pay it off sooner.

08 tsx 300 miles "tighten fuel cap" come on by ncheng

I just had my new TSX and fueled only once yesterday. However, I noticed the "tighten fuel cap" came up today. I remembered the tightened the cap by 3 clicks at least, the fuel was only a half tank.
So I just re-capped, with quite a lot clicks..
Is this a common issue for TSX? I mean, this is the first fuel... very annoying.
By the way, I felt the ignition cranking time in the morning is longer than my 10year old accord, and it is not cold outside..I am in northern cal.
The milage I got is 22 mpg, with 1/3 high way, 2/3 local..not much traffic.

when I get my 06 tsx fueled I click the gas cap alot more than the recommended 3 clicks. I have never had that message appear (knock-on-wood). Since it was your first fueling wait and see if it happens again before making it annoying. It can happen with any car not just the tsx.
Your gas mileage hopefully will improve with more mileage. I average 32-35 MPG but that is mostly highway driving. The worst was 28.4 and the best was 41.6.
I live on southeast coast of NC and my car is garaged. I have not experienced hard starts.
My tsx is 15 months old, bought new, with 36,000+miles-love it.

I also live in Norcal. Using US 101 for commute and everything. It is not exactly a freeway because there is exiton every mile so it is like a city road with alots of braking and speed adjustments. I am getting 26mpg on 2006 TSX with 24000 miles.
i think fuel cap should be rotated untill one click.

I'll give you fair warning that I am all too familiar with your problem. 2006 TSX 29,500 miles, auto, never had a single issue until 2 months ago. While sitting at a red light, my car did the same thing, however it completely stalled. Saw the RPM's dropping quickly to zero. After several attempts, the auto did start, so I brought it to my dealer. They assured me it was bad gas and I had not been using premium fuel. I was quick to grab all my receipts for premium fuel from my armrest, and the service advisor was not a help. Time continued and the same incident occurred again. and again....and again... Almost every time I was slowing to a stop, the car idled down and completely stalled. If I was lucky enough that it didn't stall, after acceleration into an intesection, etc.....stalled there. I can't count the times this happened. I brought the vehicle in again, and was sternly told that if the dealer wasn't able to "reproduce" the problem in a test drive, there was nothing they could do. Whoa.... Is this Acura rep speaking to me, or one of his employees who just got wrote up for something. I was floored. By the way, Acura of Baton Rouge, LA sucks! Over the last two months, it has been in and out of the dealer without success. I have owned Honda's and Acura's my entire life and never did I expect this to be happening. Thankfully, the auto stalled while the svc. advisor was driving it from their intake department into the back and only then was I given a loaner car. Told I had a faulty battery and faulty fuel relay switch, which they replaced. I was assured the problem was fixed......guess what, it only got worse. I was only taken to the point of rage after stalling in a busy intersection causing a UPS truck to swerve and avoid hitting me, only to hit someone else. I made a formal complaint to Acura premium client services, heard nothing back. 3 days ago, I decided it was in the best safety interest of myself, and the rest of the driving public that This lemon had to go. Purchased a 328i. I thoroughly made BMW aware of the problems I was having with the vehicle and even warned them I thought I had a lemon. strangely enough, I was ushered in to the service manager and finance manager who were eager to hear my story. To my surprise, they were willing to do whatever necessary to get me into a BMW of my choice asap as long as I was willing to let them have all the service tickets and lame excuses written down from incompetent service advisors from my dealer. believe it or not, walked out of there with a much more expensive car, nothing down, exact same note, with the exact same payoff as my TSX had.....hmmmm...this is way too suspicious. I just made an even trade for an 06 TSX to an 08 328i, with premium pkg, sport pkg, etc. I was only further surprised by a prompt urgent message followed by a phone call the next day from the regional manager of Acura premium client services regarding a complaint. Too late, buddy. Did I just give some good ammo to BMW against Acura? Probably so. After what I've been through, I don't really care. But my advice to you is to bring the vehicle in, demand a loaner car and be prepared for a long haul and a lot of b.s. from Acura. I would ask to speak to the Service Manager on your first trip and express your extreme dissatisfaction. If you indeed have the same problem I did, the two of you will be very well acquainted. Sorry man, but your situation started just like mine and it only got worse. I could only hope yours may be rectified quicker and more civilly. Good luck.
