Edmunds article: Third-Party Extended Warranty Scams

Replying to: bekins2 (Sep 26, 2009 6:41 pm) Well, the Lacrosse has excellent reliability ratings. So, I wouldn't worry about buying an extended warranty. If you absolutely have to have one, try to get one through G.M/your dealership. Most people here suggest staying away from aftermarket/3rd party warranties.

Methinks it is going to get very busy in here once again.

I would go with www.warrantyelite.com Do you by any chance work for/represent them? Please forgive the direct question, but that's usually the case when someone starts praising and promoting a particular provider the very first day they sign up at Edmunds. If you go back and read the posts in this discussion, you'd notice a couple of things: all the regulars would recommend nothing but a manufacturer's Extended Service Plan; second, there have been continuous attempts by people who sign up and start praising a particular company pretending to be extremely satisfied customers. Sometimes to the point that it's just entertaining... The product is backed by an "A rated " Insurance carrier So was Warranty Gold's Their coverage is more comprehensive than The GMAC "Major Guard" product So was Warranty Gold's They have an A rating by the BBB... So did Warranty Gold I hope you see where I'm going... Nothing wrong to believe in your company/product and promoting it, but it's against the rules here, even if done subtly. This way you'll attract the Hosts' wrath.
