As mikefm said,,3rd party aftermarket warr are worthless and deceitful. They never pay a darn thing, and their coverage is uselless with so many exclusions..Even Edmunds had a 3rd party warr company advertising,well-it went bust.
Never ever get a 3rd party warr..Always buy a manuf. warr which you can buy at any dealer of your make anywhere in the US or online at any new car dealer. What make and model do you have?
If you can cancel the warr, which I highly doubt ,go ahead and immediately do it.
My guess is that you are stuck with it and would not get any refund back from these crap 3rd party aftermarket warr.Good luck though..Keep contacting them and keep us posted..Hopefully you get something back.

Does Warranty Direct fall into the same old scam catagory? I see their ads on Edmunds and clam to have an excellent BBB record.

Scam is probably too strong a word - I would just say that if you aren't buying from the manufacturer, you should only buy what is essentially a promise from a company whose name you know.

Edmunds had recommended an ext warr company before on their website. It went belly up.
The manuf warr is the best choice..See for example,,even after GM and Chrysler are in BK,the US govt has stepped in and will honor their warr. Can u imagine that happening with a 3rd party aftermarket ext warr?
IMHO,,all of these 3rd party warr are scams!!Too many exclusions and headaches!

all good points - but doesn't it depend on who the 3rd party is? If the third party is a name you've naver heard of, the contracts are administered by someone else you've never heard of and also insured by someone you've never heard of - don't buy it!
If the agreement is with a multi-billion dollar company who has their name and reputation at risk like - Zurich, GE, Wachovia, Allstate etc., and like these companies are the marketer, administrator and insurer of the contracts, you are as safe or better than you are with a manufacturers warranty - and you will often pay a lot less for these as they don't necessarily have to be sold by the dealer who adds a huge markup.
