U. S Fidelis has more than 1100 complaints with the BBB. It is structured so that it appears that Clark Howard endorses it. Shame on you, Clark, for doing nothing about these thieves who don't pay claims.

Does Chrysler offer it's own extended warranty? by oldfarmer50

I recently bought a new Chrysler and as part of the F & I song and dance they offered me an EW for only $1395. (What a bargain). Just to be nice I said I would think it over and asked to see the details to review over night. The F&I guy ripped the cover page off the contract and handed it to me but nothing else.

Later I looked over this piece of paper (which had very hard to read fine print) and saw that some parts referred to other pages which the guy had not given me. Of particular interest was mention of "exclusions" which of course were on the pages not given to me.

I also noticed that nowhere on the paper was the name "Chrysler". This led me to believe that I was being offered a third party warranty not backed by Chrysler.

So my question is this: does Chrysler offer it's own extended warranty?

I've been offered EWs in the past and never had such a bad presentation. The F&I guy acted very hurt when I mentioned this but even if I had wanted an EW I would have never bought it from him.

I had purchased my 3rd warranty, 1--original, then I had an extended at the dealer, and then a 3rd. I paid $2600 for it over 2 years ago and have yet to need it. But I was reading today in my newspaper about a lady who took her car in for warranty work and found out she had NO warranty. it was Continental Warranty, the SAME one I had bought.
I got right on a phone number and found out some company(Royal Administrative Services) is paying out what is left on the warranty, but this company has been out of business over a year. Why do I have to lose that money and was never told? That is fraud isn't; it? What do I do about this?
I already have a nasty message about they better give me my money back as I never used the warranty and I was not told nor never would have been except if I went to the dealer for warranty claim. That is highway robbery.
I need help .......................... Adelle

Welcome to the club, many of us here have been burned by similar 3rd party warranty companies just like Continental. In my case, Warranty Gold did it to me. Your warranty company will or has gone bankrupt and you are fortunate to get anything back, I got nothing. In a bankruptcy case, you have limited options as the money is gone. Most likely, the crooks that started the company will eventually be back in business under another name. That's why no regular here will recommend any warranty other than a manufacturer backed one.

As mikefm said,,3rd party aftermarket warr are worthless and deceitful. They never pay a darn thing, and their coverage is uselless with so many exclusions..Even Edmunds had a 3rd party warr company advertising,well-it went bust.
Never ever get a 3rd party warr..Always buy a manuf. warr which you can buy at any dealer of your make anywhere in the US or online at any new car dealer. What make and model do you have?
If you can cancel the warr, which I highly doubt ,go ahead and immediately do it.
My guess is that you are stuck with it and would not get any refund back from these crap 3rd party aftermarket warr.Good luck though..Keep contacting them and keep us posted..Hopefully you get something back.

Does Warranty Direct fall into the same old scam catagory? I see their ads on Edmunds and clam to have an excellent BBB record.
