I jutst purchased a fully loaded 2009 camry hybrid for $26,350 and received pressure to buy extended warranty for $1300. I said I wouldn't do it until I fully read and understood what I was buying. Is this reasonable price and is it worth it?

U can get a Toyota Manuf warr for around 1300...so this is a really good price u got.
It`s a hybrid too,so,,Go ahead and buy it if u plan to keep your car atleast 4-5 years or drive more than 36k.
But make sure it is a original Toyota Manuf warr..--not a 3rd party warr.A dealer can sell u any warr he likes-- manuf. or 3rd party. But he makes more profit on 3rd party -so he pushes them more. These 3rd party ones are useless, they dont pay anything.
So confirm with him on this and get a Toyota Manuf warr.U can read the Toyota Ext warr details on The Toyota website!!

How long do you plan to keep the vehicle and how many miles do you typically drive a year? The powertrain is covered for 5 yr/60k miles. Do you need more coverage than that?

Diffrence between Honda Care vs. "Limited Factory Warranty"? by cn2000

Hi all- sorry, but I have a very naive question and was hoping for some help. Just bought a Honda certified used '08 civic with very low miles and was excited to get the 7 yr/100,000 mile powertrain and 4 yr/48,000 mile "bumper to bumper" (with the 1 yr extension from certification) (essentially getting a new car with a better warranty for lower price). However, when the finance guy came out at the end, he offered me Honda Care "bumper to bumper" (for way more than the online prices- shocking, I know). I told him the car salesman had used the same term to describe the 4/48K warranty, but Mr. Finance insisted they are completely different. My questions are as follows:

1) Does the Honda Care just potentially extend the exact same 4/48,000 coverage to, say 7/100,000 (if I buy that plan) or
2) Does the Honda Care plan actually cover different things that would not be covered for the first 4/48,000? (This is what the finance guy led me to believe and of course tried to scare me into multiple expensive scenarios that wouldn't be covered without Honda Care. Since he already told me the time of purchase was the ONLY time I could buy Honda Care, I am now viewing everything he said with a large amount of skepticism.)

I've already got the 7/100,000 powertrain through Honda certification, but I'm confused about the "bumper to bumper" (or "limited factory warranty" as the finance guy called it) part. I still have some time to buy a "new" Honda Care, if it's worth it in this case. Thanks in advance for any advice and opinions!

Yes, The ext Honda Care 7yr/100k warr is pretty much like the bumper to bumper warr.If u plan to keep the car for atleast 5 more years or 100k miles, then go ahead and buy it.
Never ever buy a 3rd party aftermarket warr. which sometimes the dealer wants to sell as there is more profit for him..But they are total crap..Only buy the original Manuf.Honda care ext warr. from a Honda dealer.

U can buy it from any Honda dealer in US or online at any Honda dealer.
There is a thread in this forum--Honda Care ext warr--folks post the prices paid and the place/dealer where they got it from!

HondaCare is a service contract, not a warranty. There is a list of exclusions that you won't see in the factory warranty book. It is the closest you'll get to 'bumper to bumper' in service contract land.

Just be sure you know what you're buying.

Read the contract before you fork over your money. It's posted on several websites. Might take some work on your part, but forewarned is forearmed.

That is true, the premium plan is an exclusionary contract, meaning it will tell you what is not covered. The biggest differences between it and the factory are usually that the VSC won't cover squeaks and rattles or leaks.
