I find it helpful when someone describes their full buying experience/pricing to include: price, options, relation to invoice if possible, and especially the trade-in deal and financing. We know the dealer can make money in several ways. He can give you less than you deserve on a trade-in but a better price on the car as an example. I used the Edmunds.com car valuation calculator and Chrysler's also. On 7/31/03, I purchased a FWD PAC with 1.5k miles on it( dealer wife was using mint vehicle)with leather, DVD, moonroof, GPS, power door, chrome wheels, 6 speaker sound system, all but the engine and seat heater, uconnect phone, and full spare tire. The dealer gave me $1.5k above edmunds.com car valuation for trading in my 99 loaded Sienna XLE w/ 57k miles on it and priced the PAC for invoice. I financed rest for 3.99% for 60 months with my credit card company A suggestion: I went to Chrysler's home page to see the inventory of the various dealers in the area to get a sense of how many they have on their lots etc. Shop at least a couple of dealers to see how anxious they are to sell or not sell. I wind up at a dealer in a pretty small city who was anxious for a sale. Good luck. PS. Did I say we are in love with this vehicle. |

I agree with alg65. You have to do your homework and shop around. It is increasingly difficult for dealers these days to fool people like your dealer tried to do to you. There is just too much information out there on the internet for consumers who will bother to do the research. Look at the Edmunds TMV feature for new cars. I just priced out a fully loaded AWD Pacifica and the sticker came to $41,335.00 the invoice price was $37,625.00. That leaves $3,710.00 pfrofit for the dealer. However they are selling well below invoice due to unpublished incentives from Chrysler. If you also look at the "Incentives & Rebates" page for the Pacifica, it shows a $2,000.00 marketing support incentive from Chrysler to the dealers. You should be able to get the car for $4,500-6,000.00 under sticker. It pays to do your homework and to shop around. If you are sold on this one in stock, I would print out all this information and take it to the dealer. Ask to speak to either the sales manager or the fleet sales person. Present your case and see where it goes. Good Luck! |

| I believe the $2,000 is the money that the dealer will automatically get from Chrysler for just selling the car. Go to Edmunds's incentives page and look up Pacifica. This dealer is playing games with you, he is not even trying to make any deals. | |

Been looking for a larger vehicle than my Jetta Wagon, and was leaning to the Toureg...Anyway after realizing that my dealer, and VW aren't even close to being able to service a new model, started looking, and I think Pacifica is the one... Looking at a virtually loaded pacifica, and was wondering if there was any new incentives that are rumored or are starting or stopping? The Demo program is hinted at in the local ads, but are shown on lease pricing. Haven't seen the dealer, but figured I'd get equipped with information before I see him. Is the Demo discount off of MSRP or invoice. Invoice is 37517 and MSRP is 41200. I would be happy with 6K off of the 41,200 and a good trade offer, but would be even happier if the 6K was true value and it applied to a number closer to the 37,517... Anyone get a great deal on a loaded Pacifica?? Also, are any of the factory options dealer do-able if they are not on the vehicle, specifically the full size spare, and the cargo group are missing at most of the dealers in the area... |

I bought my Pacifica at the end of June for $1500 under invoice with about $1300 worth of Mopar accessories thrown in. I like doing part of a deal with accessories because I would have paid full retail but the dealership is only out half that amount and it makes both of us feel pretty good. The value for my trade was just OK but I was glad to unload that crappy Mitsubishi! My Pacifica already had the full sized spare but I was able to work the cargo group into my accessory list. That was pretty straight forward though and I know some factory options just aren't available after the fact. My guess is that the space designed for the spare tire can accommodate either size. I've put about 3,000 miles on now and have been very pleased. I was able to load about 10 hours of DVDs in the changer for the kids on our vacation and it was smooth sailing! Anyway, if anyone thinks the Pacifica is over priced (it's not) then they ought price out a Toureg... |

| Got two offers of 1147 to 1436 below invoice, Not exactly what I wanted, but very close. The trade offer will be the factor, but has anyone gotten much better recently and gotten close to the Kelly Blue Book on trade?? | |
|
So got the final deal from the dealer, Midnight Blue/ Slate Grey, Fully, 100% fully loaded. MSRP of 41235 Invoice of 37548. Dealer offer of 36499, and trade offer was 1250 over kelly blue book... I cant imagine the deal getting any sweeter than this, gonna close the door tomorrow, hope the dealer doesnt do anything skeezy.... |

A reporter with a major magazine is looking to interview people who were drawn to Chrysler dealerships by the Pacifica, and then experienced sticker shock, and perhaps purchased the Town and Country instead. If you fit the bill, please respond to jfallon Thanks! |

| The sticker was $37,555 and the price I paid was $31,728. I was happy with the deal and am happier with the Pacifica. My wife and I both love it the more we drive it. | |
| Did you get the deal you mentioned in post# 105? I saw you got your blue PAC on another post. I agree w/ you on the cruise control issue. Friday night, on my way to the NC coast, I tried to use the cruise control for the first time and noticed that the controls were not lighted. I had to turn on the inside cabin lights to read the little white letters on the buttons. A bit inconvenient for those of us who can't remember which button does what. | |
