BRAKES & RATTLES by pete6

I'm leasing a 2006 LIMITED Pacifica. I leased a Pacifica for two years before this one and loved it with never a problem. The brakes on my current Pacifica are HORRIBLE - they scrub like they need replacing. I took to the dealer and they say there is nothing wrong with them. I have RATTLES throughout the inside of the vehicle that make me crazy. Anyone else out there experience the brake issue on a brand new vehicle? Have a friend that has same problem.

I also have a 2006 Limited that I purchased new. My brakes are smooth and I don't have any rattles inside the vehicle.

Are the 2007 Pacifica's worth the money? by researching3

The Pacifica caught my eye on the road, test drove a 2007 Pacifica, AWD, Spring Edition. Lots of bells & whistles. My concern is overall value and dependability. I'm not ready for a sedan yet, like the crossover. Also looking at the Nissan Murano. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

leasing or buying?

i wouldn't buy a new Pacifica. The depreciation is absolutely atrocious.

BUT, having said that, I feel it is a great vehicle for the money. They just don't sell well, so you'd save a ton buying a slightly used one. The problem, of course, is the '07 has the new drivetrain that you wouldn't get in a used one ... unless you found a slightly used '07.

I HAVE A 2006 AND IM AT THE DEALER 1 A WEEK....FOR SOME ENDLESS CRAP. WHEN I HAD A 2002 PATFINDER I ONLY WENT FOR OIL CHANGE...THATS IT. MURANO IS THE WAY TO GO.PACIFICA IS A >>>>>

Researching3.. The Murano is certainly a nice vehicle. A good friend of mine owns one and likes it, so I'd certainly give it a try. He, however, doesn't need quite so much room or a third row so it makes sense for him. I believe he's on his second year with it. I'd be inclined--at this point--to wait for it's replacement which is due in a year or two.
I would recommend the Pacifica without reservation. Although I've only had mine for 4 months and 7500 miles, it never ceases to surprise me with it's performance, room, comfort, relative economy and handling. For the record, it has been trouble free and my 5 Star Dealer falls over themselves to make sure I knoq to come to them if problems arise. They twice provided me new loaner cars when my Pacifica was having accessories installed that required an overnight stay. Also when it was discovered that it came from the factory with a misshapen rotor. Instead of simply replacing the bad rotor, they replaced both rotors, and the brake pads and discs--fearing that the vibration may have damaged or worn both.
Lastly, as a longtime member of this board dating back to 1999, I feel compelled to provide a history lesson. There have ALWAYS been individuals (at least two) who log on with new profiles claiming to be "owners" who complain about how bad their Chrysler vehicles are. The stories are horrendous--translation unlikely and unbelievable. They are easy to spot because they keep their emails private and they create a profile the same day or within a week of posting their "catastrophic" experience. I believe we are seeing one or two of them here now. Your Chrysler will likely be as reliable and competent a domestic vehicle as you'll find. My last several have been. Cheers and happy motoring..!
