we are a family of 5. we've driven the ford expedition for the past 10 years. we are looking for a change.an suv that's not so big, but can fit 6-7 passengers. we are trying to decide between a ford explorer or the chrysler pacifica touring. any opinions out there? we'd like to stay between $30 and $32,000. we do want dvd, leather, power. the acura mdx is too expensive and the volkswagon toureq doesn't seem to have the dvd.

Replying to: coty3 (Nov 14, 2005 10:15 am) Personally, I would much prefer to sit in the third row than in the center of a bench seat. I also think kids are much happier on long trips having their own individual seats. They all have their own air. The ride quality and quietness of the Pacifica are far superior. I'm prejudice, but I feel everything else on the Pacifica is superior, especially its looks, ergonomics and ease of entry and exit. Do you want to blend in or stand out?

I'd first like to thank each of you for your comments. You've been very helpful in my decision to purchase a 2006 Pacifica. Here's my buying experience: I'm purchasing a 2006 Butane Blue Touring FWD. It's equipped with the following: 1. Rear DVD 2. Moonroof 3. "T" package 4. Traction Control 5. Heated Leather Seats 6. Side airbags My overall price is 29,650. This price includes taxes and tags. I am a graduate student and was able to get the car at 1% below invoice. This price is also with the $3500 rebate. I'm hoping that I got a good deal! I can't wait to get my car. They're saying that it should be here on the 21st, but I'm not confident since the dealer is saying that they're not certain that it will be there on that day. Again, thanks for all of your comments. I feel pretty confident in my decision. |

| I'm looking at a nice 2004 model at the local dealer (Delivered in Sept 03). Its a FWD model, 3rd row seats and only 29K miles. Carfax reports looks good, nothing but minor stuff thats gone wrong, one owner. Dealer will extend bumper to bumper warranty to 39K. Price was just reduced to 16995 from 20995. Its been on the dealer lot since August so they want it gone. What do you all think - I really like the car but worry about the reliability stuff that I see coming up on the boards - wife needs a new car and I'd like something a little nicer than minivan route. I like to do my own work and hate getting away from the V-6 Nissan engine in the Villager and Quests. Sure wish the rear window opened so that I can haul the occaissional piece of lumber and I would prefer bench seats in the middle. Anyways, what do you all think - any tips on initial offer price? I was thinking of offering 16K and going from there (too high?) thanks, Frank | |
I am considering a '05 touring w/ moonroof, DVD, 4 heated leather seats and chrome wheels, or a '05 limited with basically the same options but with Nav. as well. The touring is a demo but never titled and has 2K miles on it, is the limited w/ no miles worth the $4-5K differencein price?
