No, the manual explicitly states that "under no circumstances should oil changes intervals exceed 6,000 miles or 6 months whichever comes first", but for my climate and driving circumstances it recommends changing the oil every 3,000 miles. Do you have information that states something else? Interestingly, there is nothing in hear about needing to add oil ofcourse.

I have to check my manual when I get home. We bring it in when the maintenance reminder tells us, but I believe that has exceeded 6k miles. Maybe I am wrong.
I could be getting confused with my Honda.

I have an '04 Pac that I use for business, putting about 30K miles per year on it. Recently it seems like I'm having nothing but problems. Other than normal maintenance and tires, I've had a rash of (expensive) problems lately. First I had to replace the upper strut mounts (and struts, while they were at it). Now the oil drain plug is stripped and I'll have to replace the pan, and the cruise control doesn't work. I have about 90K on it now. This is my favorite car ever, and we've even discussed buying another, but not if they are all this expensive to maintain. Has anyone else had these problems?

well, struts and mounts shouldn't cost much, unless they are overcharging. Who stripped the oil drain plug? Of course, that's no fault of the car's. Someone stripped it.
What's up with the cruise?
Our cruise gave us a fit for a while, where hitting accel or decel would actually shut the system off altogether. But the dealer couldn't replicate (big surprise). It eventually just went away.

I think we have smoothed things over with the dealer. They are going to check the oil for us every 1K miles like you suggested. However, two days ago I started having something new happen. When I am going under 10-20 miles, after I step on the gas, I feel a clunk. Sometimes it happens with the brake, but mostly the gas. Vague description, I know, but that is the best word to describe it. Anyone know what that might be?

Hi MIMMA
it sounds like the motor mounts to me.you might as well have the dealer check the mounts.

Try checking the nuts on the wheel axles. Our 06 was clunking because they had backed out.
