| Since it rated a discussion of its own, I've opened up the Chrysler Pacifica: Tire/Wheel Questions discussion and moved the recent posts on tire replacement and rims to that discussion where you may continue! | |
I'm a do it your-selfer; recently my headlight went out and I called the Service department to see about having it replaced; they wanted over $50.00 to change 1 bulb. I bought a set of bulbs for $20.00. What I'm trying to figure out is what the best way to change it is. I'm working on the driver's side. Should I pull out the whole light assembly? If so, is there a bolt on the bottom? Or should I lift the Fuse box and go that route. I'm currently trying the lift the fuse box route but I have to contort my hand to get it in the opening to grab the bulb. There must be a way that I can do this without taking it in. Help Please.

This will help keep you from scractching your chrome Bezelette (bumper insert). Kind of tricky the first time but after you do it once, it is a piece of cake. The hard part is popping it out of the snaps. Here is the factory service manual instructions: REMOVAL Open hood, disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove the two headlamp unit retaining screws. (two screws on top) Gently pull headlamp unit forward, unsnapping it from the lower retaining clip. Be careful not to damage lower retaining clip upon removal. Disconnect the headlamp unit electrical connector. Transfer the lamps to the new headlamp unit if replacing. INSTALLATION Transfer the lamps to the new headlamp unit if replacing. Connect the headlamp unit electrical connect. Gently place the headlamp unit into the body opening. Make sure the lower retaining clip is placed on the retaining bar on the bottom of the headlamp unit. Be careful not to damage lower retaining clip upon installation. Install the two headlamp unit retaining screws Reinstall the battery negative cable. Verify vehicle and system operation. FIRST, make sure you put a small hand towel under the headlight bezel.
