At first I thought the double decker system was a neat thing. I bought the option in my SR5. It's useless, save your money. Worst thing is that even when it is down, you lose a bit of cargo space because it takes a couple of inches laying on the floor. You can buy the nets separately if you want those.

A shelf with nets like that came in my minivan and it was worthless too. I tossed it.

Check eBay. I know I can buy replacement shelves for my van all day long on there.

Hi

Does anyone know if you can install the Homelink and Autodimming Mirror (factory version) in a 4-Runner? Does Toyota sell the parts or a kit?

What brand and model of NAV system is used in the Limited model? I cannot find any Sport with it so I will have to get it installed. I want the same as what's installed in the factory.

Thanks.

"Dual" Exhaust System by oriente

I am considring a "dual" exhaust system in my 2003 4R. Informally I was told at the dealer that I void the factory warranty unless I go with the Borla system they sell ($600 plus, parts only). I believe a local muffler shop would do it for a fraction. I emailed Toyota and so far, no answer. Any suggestions/experiences on the subject? (I dont even know if the Toyota V8 sounds as good as the Fords and Chevys.)

Think you're out of luck re: homelink -- have not seen that offered as an "after sale" accessory. However, the autodimming mirrors are available. I purchased an autodimming mirror (no compass or lights) at brandsport for $49 / free shipping. Easy installation w/ two wire hookup. Here's the url for the offer... blow out while supply lasts:

http://www.brandsport.com/toy-pt374-0c020.html

If you want the mirror w/ compass try here:
http://www.delandtoyota.com/frameset1.asp?LINK=Parts&MAIN=par- ts_wildcard1

Price is $157 plus shipping

If url doesn't work, go to delandtoyota.com and go to online parts. Good luck.

Rather than risk paint abbrasions from debris under a bra, why not consider a clear bra?

A full DIY Kit is available for about $200:
