I am considering Manik Grille and brush guards for my 04 SR5 and noticed you can buy them in one,two or 4 piece in black or stainless. Is it better to get the one piece, is black going to hold up as well as stainless(rusting etc..) is it easy for a semi-handy guy to install, and finally if I have the sport bumper trim(FO)and the hood protector both that came with the truck, will I still be able to install one of these? Also, do the bars that go across the headlights interfere with light at night? I know you can remove them as well. Thanks in advance. Cliff |

The one two and four piece are different versions of the same exact brush gaurd? And I bet what you say is stainless is really chrome, right? Lastly it won't fit over the stock sport bumper trim. (btw if you replace your sport bumper trim I would auction it because they go for a lot of money new) Also the grilles over the lights do not affect them. |

Does anyone have a recommendation on what brand is good and a photo of what the bug deflector looks like on a 2004 4-Runner. Like to purchase one for my new 4-runner

Thanks toyboxx for your feedback. So, why would anyone buy anything other than the one piece. Also, yes it is chrome. Seems to be considerably more expensive than black! Wonder if it is worth it? Also, the sport bumper trim, it looks nice, but how much does it serve functionally speaking? Obviously the Manik offers more protection. In your opinion, what could it be auctioned for just to give me an idea. Thanks again toyboxx, Dillon |

Toyboxx Any idea if one removes the front bumper trim if there will be holes left and are they then going to be used by the Manik or Waag bars? Hate to remove the bumper trim and have giant holes showing? Any thoughts on this? Thanks |

Sport bumper trim provides NO protection whatsoever. It is thin plastic and shatters easy. Yes it will leave holes if removed. Don't know what it could be auctioned for but they go for ~ $375 to $400 new from Toyota. The Manik I'm guessing will come as one piece with the center part only and the the second piece might be the light gaurds added on, etc. Look at the warranty for both the chrome and black, that may be telling. |

Hi All, I "finally" recently bought a 4runner v8 sr5, too tall to fit in sport, long story, anyways, I am receiving it this friday and have heard that the stock tires SUCK and there is some previous posts saying other tires are really good, but not much talk on the quality of grand treks. I am curious what you all thought of them. I looked into 'exchanging' the 'new' dunlops for Bridgestone Revo's, but i cant seem to get much for the dunlops. I am just curious if the dunlops REALLY suck, then i might just bite the bullet and upgrade now while the stock tires are still worth something. Since i live in Ottawa Canada, SNOW driving is rather important, plus offroading maybe once a month, nothing to serious though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| With regards to the Dunlop tires, I wouldn't say that they "suck." I think that they are great all around tires and provide a nice, smooth ride with little tire noise, but the Bridgestone's would be better for you considering your concern for snow driving. I have driven my Dunlop clad 4Runner in the snow with little difficulties in NYS. For off-roading,the Dunlops are ok, but don't have the bite for serious off-roading. It all depends upon your needs. | |
