I think they realized that they can't do it, or this was the "low balling" offer, I took them up on it, and they backed out. Not a very professional way to conduct business. I had my hopes up for nothing. Back to monitoring stage.   Could a dealer pull an April's fool joke early? Like a day early?

Replying to: chiefjs (Apr 01, 2005 1:30 pm) You are better off getting all of the accessories down in writing first, and make clear that any offers include those accessories..   Otherwise, you end up negotiating a good deal, and after you have the car, they want to charge you list price for everything else..

The package includes all-weather mats, trunk tray, mud flaps, and wheel locks.   We negotiated our price for the car over the phone, knowing that we would make a stink over the car when we went to pick it up and insist they throw in the all-weather mats and trunk tray. Those were the only accessories we wanted, and we got them thrown in when we picked up the car.

After looking at several cars during my search the last few months, the TSX is the only one that turns my head every time.   I'm hoping for a '05 Satin Silver/Ebony/Auto/Non-Navi (although I also like the Meteor Silver). I'm ready to buy now or no later than Memorial Day weekend. I understand $25.5k is about an average selling price before TT&L and dealer fees. Is this doable? My only delay in buying is financing incentives. In the past, I've always purchased cars and gotten rates of 0.9% and 1.9%, respectively. I'm new to Honda/Acura and am aware Acura rarely offers these rates...especially for a hot seller. A co-worker purchased a TSX with 2.9% apr during Memorial Day weekend last year. They also offered this rate during the end of 2004. Is it reasonable to think American Honda Financing will offer a similar incentive this Memorial Weekend? Or should I just buy now?   Also, I'm in South Florida. Does anyone have good dealer experiences to share for the area?

Theres only one acura dealer in the monterey bay in seaside and when I checked out to see what they had in their lot there was like only 1 car for each model. I just happened to stop by while my gf was at a toyota dealer. Should I just work with the dealers in the bay area up north since it seems there will be more competition since theres many dealers in that one area?

I just bought an '05 Silver TSX, No Nav, Auto, Ebony leather, wheel locks for $25,800 + TTL out the door for $27,466 at Acura of South Florida. It had 7 miles on it. Do the Autobytel - the internet manager is honest and provided good service. The whole transaction took less than 2 hours including negotiation and all the paperwork. I bought the car in Wayne, NJ (northern NJ) for $25,519. I negotiated for 4% up from wholesale and after visiting a couple dealers, I got the price I wanted. This included destination charge, premium package, w/ out navigation system. I also traded in my car, so the bottom line cost was $25, 119. The MSRP at the dealership was $27,760. However, after reading Edmunds book and also getting the wholesale price from Edmunds and Consumer Report, I knew that I could negotiate a good price after finding out the wholesale price. Also, it helped that I had a few dealerships that I was negotiating with. The TMV in this area is around $27,000. I am happy with what I paid. It's a great car. Best of luck to you!
