Thanks Shipo for clearing that up for me. I indeed meant a console that shift towards the driver. I just thought the MFDs are cool looking, very functional, and a better way to present information with vehicles that have a GPS Nav system. It also reminds me of being "at work". Call me old school, but I also think having a mouse in the "Ultimate Driving Machine" is kind of odd.   VR   A-10 Driver   PS I know the I-Drive controller is not a mouse, but it sure looks and quacks like one.

BMW will return to ALMS competition with the only good-looking car they make. Team PTG will field two factory-backed BMW M3s in the 2006 American Le Mans Series' new GT2S class for sedan-style cars.   American Le Mans Series news

Replying to: innhitman (Aug 07, 2005 8:22 am) I think BMW's should come with a Valet setting and a valet keys which limits the valet to just drive the car a short distance and parking it, and not allow him to access any other function or storage place in the car.   In addition to your valuables, the attendants are liable to toy with your car. I.E., test the stereo system, play with the Navigation, even burn the rubber.

Recall that the E39 went to "angel eyes" headlights and a few other tweaks a few years into the run. Given some of the flack that Bangle got for the "eyebrows" on the E60, and the "stick on" butt, more than a few folks probably hope that they are candidates for a little tweaking at mid-cycle.

Replying to: hpowders (Dec 30, 2005 7:00 pm) Speak for yourself. As a ten year owner of an E39, the ONLY reason I didn't buy an E60 was styling. Yes, to each his own; however, I think the car is hideous and plenty of others agree. BMW would do itself a huge favor by getting rid of the "eyebrows" and doing a 7 series "fix" on the E60's butt.
