The trouble is that i have come to realize that its really hard to find a "good deal" on a porsche here in the DC area. a dealer here wanted to sell me a used 2005 for 43k and another wanted me to pay something like 35k for a 2002 boxster S.   thanks again for the post. Replying to: ignap (Dec 20, 2005 9:30 pm) The DC area isn't the easiest place to find a good deal. I ended up buying my new 911 at Valley Motors outside of Baltimore. A Pittsburgh dealer also made me a very good offer. But the local DC dealers, particularly Northern Virginia, were considerably higher ($5,000+).   Good luck.

Replying to: ignap (Dec 20, 2005 9:30 pm) If you want to look deeper into the Northeast you can probably find a good deal starting at this time of the year. When I bought my Boxster S two years ago the prices dropped like a rock the last two weeks of the year. It also depends on inventory. Try searching the NY area dealers since there are a lot of them. I have a 2000 boxster s, when I start up my car after it sits for several hours, a cloud of white smoke comes from the exhaust. It only smokes for a few seconds and it clears up. I found oil in my throttle body, so I'm assuming its sucking oil from the engine. My engine light is also on now. Can anyone tell me what the fix is? had made up my mind on the new one but as luck would have it found a car with low mileage and 18inch wheels. love the car and am very happy . cant wait for summer. thanks for the help.

Replying to: nyccarguy (Jan 05, 2006 8:52 pm) .. its a black/black with heated seats and 18 inch alloy wheels, some painted crests that i dont really care about. the car drives great and the tires are in really good shape. of course i had to steel my nerves before getting insurance quotes and figuring out what the whole thing is going to cost me. very happy driving and i think no snow till next sunday so will make the most of the week.
