Got a little more than 19 running around town and crusing on a few hilly roads. I guess the mileage should get better as I get more miles on it. Monday starts the work commute so we'll see what happens by the end of the week. LeRoy

Farout, I did not mean to get you angry. I am just relating my experience with this vehicle. I have a 2005 limited 4WD with 20K on it and am very pleased with it(I probably just jinxed myself). I traded a Toyota Tacoma(std bed 4WD 4cyl) for it because the Tacoma could not carry the people and gear I needed when pulling my boat. The Tacomas brakes had trouble stopping the boat as well. The Liberty is an excellent tow vehicle here in the Ozarks. I know two people who have the Diesel and both like them. They get a little lower mileage than some of the posts I see but the terrain and driving style are different. I stand by my evaluation of the Liberty's towing performance although I have much more time with the 3.7L since I own one. In my driving I usually get about 20.5 MPG all highway and about 17.5 MPG driving to work. Minus 2 MPG when towing. Given the offroad capabilities that I use often of this vehicle Its pretty good. My friends get about 4-5 MPG better with the Diesel. Both are great Jeeps I prefer the driving experience of the 3.7L over the Diesel. Also in rural america automotive Diesel is sometimes hard to find at two in the morning heading out to fish or hunt. |

Found a potentially solid source for dealing with Chrysler. I shall indulge. The fellow who put this faq site together has seriously done his homework. dieselfumes, this should help your outlook a bit. It's comprised of 6 separate pages including how to spar with Chrysler over problems or a lemon for the most favorable outcome. http://www.faqs.org/faqs/autos/chrysler-faq/general/part1/ Jones

| I was checking the accuracy of my trip meter today and found it to read about %10 percent slow. Has anyone else found this to be true with there CRD liberty? Is there an easy way to fix it? | |

Replying to: farout (Apr 15, 2006 5:14 pm) On the Jeep.com site an "07" Wrangler does have a CRD as optional power but only for export outside CONUS(Continental U.S.). I e-mailed customer relations about the lack of foresight in providing this engine here in U.S., there response by a person who obviously did not know that CRD was optional on exports. I say that because she categorically stated that "no Wrangler's are available with the CRD"... this in spite of the fact of CRD being shown as option on export models.
