Replying to: master1 (Jul 07, 2006 5:55 pm) hey master1, NOBODY said ANYTHING about a full redesigned Odyssey. You might want to go back and re-read bconsi's post. The only thing that was stated was that the '07 models would be in the dealership in September. Beyond that little comment, I agree with you: the '07 models should see a very minor freshening (if any). If I understand Honda's product cycles, they typically run about 4 years between major redesigns. The previous generation ran for 4 years ('01 thru '04), so the current generation should run from '05 thru '08. The earliest I'd expect a full redesign should arrive in the fall of '08 as the '09 model Odyssey. But it does make sense that there would be a minor freshening mid-cycle......which would be for the coming '07 models. |

Actually the previous generation was '99 - 04. Honda uses 5 or 6 year cycles these days. They quit the 4 year cycles in the mid 90's. Now they typically give a refresh after 3 years and replace after 5 years. Longer for some models. Toyota is about the same.

| If these critters are coming out in August I would think there should be some guesstimate on a release date. Anyone have a clue?? | |
Does anyone know approximately how much the price will increase for the 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L? With the new model year, can you still get quotes for under invoice or is this just something that happens at the end of the model year?

Not sure of the source: http://www.aussiemotoring.com/?p=176 First time I have seen anything regarding the 07 Odyssey and not sure if this is for U.S Market... Odiopus

Replying to: odiopus (Jul 24, 2006 9:54 am) You'll also note that the 'Odyssey' pictured is COMPLETELY different from the U.S. market (swingout rear doors like the 1st gen U.S. market Ody instead of sliding doors just to name the first thing I noticed). I think those changes have nothing to do with the U.S. market. |

I'm new to this but can see how it might become addictive....We're trying to decide between buying our leased Acura MDX that we love or turning it in and buying an Odyssey EX-L RES. Our 2nd child is due any day. Few questions: 1. What type of discount should I get on a 2006 vs. a 2007? Trying to decide if I should wait for 2007's especially if they can't find the color I want in an '06. 2. Any thoughts on the MDX vs. the Odyssey? Both have 3 rows of seats..van slightly bigger but not as much as I thought.... 3. I read something here about the 2007 having a larger RES screen..Anyone else heard that? Thanks! Mike

Replying to: mdavis99 (Jul 24, 2006 11:58 am) Answer to #1 - cannot help you there. #2 - Yes they both have 3 rows, but the third row in the MDX is basically useless with kids. We have a 9 month old and since there is no latch system in the center seat we have her seat on the passenger side (one of the reasons). That is side to enter the third row.... Needless to say only way in is through the hatchback - because I am not taking the seat base in and out all the time. I think this would be a problem with the car seat in the center as well. Another issue with car seats is there is not a lot of room between the front seat and the second seat, so the front passenger seat is nearly all the way forward to get her car seat in the second row. Not a great option if you are tall like I am. If the child is in a booster seat all is well with that, but we are not there yet - but you still have the issue of getting to the third seat. As for storage, there is a good amount in the MDX, but we run out and we only have 1 kid. She does have a large stroller though. We are looking at the Touring Odyssey, and the wife just loves the power doors and lift gate. She has issues with the MDX lift gate. It is heavy and she cannot reach it that well. #3 - don't know. Hope this helps. If you have specific questions, just email me.
