That's not true. A FULL REDESIGNED Odyssey wont be in Sept.

Maybe a freshened 06 will but not a full redesign.

Master1, are you saying the 07 will be a full redesign? Does anyone know? I'm close to pulling the trigger on an 06 now. It would help if I knew the 07 was going to have significant changes. Thanks.

"That's not true. A FULL REDESIGNED Odyssey wont be in Sept."

hey master1, NOBODY said ANYTHING about a full redesigned Odyssey. You might want to go back and re-read bconsi's post.

The only thing that was stated was that the '07 models would be in the dealership in September.

Beyond that little comment, I agree with you: the '07 models should see a very minor freshening (if any). If I understand Honda's product cycles, they typically run about 4 years between major redesigns. The previous generation ran for 4 years ('01 thru '04), so the current generation should run from '05 thru '08. The earliest I'd expect a full redesign should arrive in the fall of '08 as the '09 model Odyssey.

But it does make sense that there would be a minor freshening mid-cycle......which would be for the coming '07 models.

Actually the previous generation was '99 - 04. Honda uses 5 or 6 year cycles these days. They quit the 4 year cycles in the mid 90's.

Now they typically give a refresh after 3 years and replace after 5 years. Longer for some models. Toyota is about the same.

Thanks - I stand corrected.

So, if we assume a freshening after 3 years, a freshened Odyssey won't hit until the '08 models.

If these critters are coming out in August I would think there should be some guesstimate on a release date. Anyone have a clue??

2007 prices by day54

Does anyone know approximately how much the price will increase for the 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L? With the new model year, can you still get quotes for under invoice or is this just something that happens at the end of the model year?

Apparently just like you, I am in a position of either getting one of the last of the 2006s or one of the first of the 2007s. I believe that the purchase price difference will be huge, but of course we are just guessing what the first of the 2007s will sell for. I have been driving Odys for the past 10 years. About to get another. I have never seen discounts nearly this steep. The price in my area is 500 to 1,500 below, or put another way 3,500 to 4,500 below MSRP. My guess is that you will do well to get half this discount on a 2007 early in the model year. So I'm aiming for a great deal on a 2006. And it could be that the smaller discount will be coupled with an increase in both the MSRP and the invoice, which would create an even wider difference in purchase prices comparing the last of the 2006s to the first of the 2007s.

You'll note that the writeup regarding changes to the '07 Odyssey (Australian market) involve "...revised grille, bumpers and rear lights. Side indicators have also been added to the side mirrors."

You'll also note that the 'Odyssey' pictured is COMPLETELY different from the U.S. market (swingout rear doors like the 1st gen U.S. market Ody instead of sliding doors just to name the first thing I noticed).

I think those changes have nothing to do with the U.S. market.
