No offense Jurek, even your numbers are lower then what's listed as official MPG of the Murano.
And read the other messages posted on this forum, regarding this issue.
Just FYI, a bulkier Dodge Caravan, that does not incorporate the best engine in its class, no VVT-i, no aluminum block and cylinder heads, no DOHC,no CVT tranny, no premium fuel, gets an average of 22-23 mpg. Just for that ,and Murano's MPG is very poor....in its class.
Even Engineers NTCNA in Farmington Hills, Mi, are aware of this issue. Seams that CVT is demanding the extra gas, instead of reducing the consumption...hmm,not quite what's advertised about CVT...
Why pay the extra for the Murano then?

Thank you Al, I was able to read the specs on S version. Most obvious "strippings" are the controls from the steering wheel and a few whistle and bells that did not excited me too much anyway.
Dealers in Metro Detroit are still selling full loaded Muranos... I guess demand is high and that explain high profits Nissan had last year )

2/27/2005 I just bought a S type - cloth interior.
Things it doesn't have -
Automatic headlight - fog lights - high intensity lights - adjustable headlights - auto dimming rearview mirror - sun roof
It only has a 1 disc/am/fm radio with four speakers but sounds surprisingly good.

I'm in KY and paid right at 28,000 before tax. Not the best deal but I think it was average.
I don't know about the milage yet but think it will get 18 - 20 city. I'm still figuring out how to drive it best. It has a Drive - S feature that I'm unsure of.
It does have adjustable drivers seat (6 position I think) - adjustable foot pedals - duel side AC - heated side mirrors - All Wheel Drive - rear cargo net, tray and cover - The standard floating dash display - various electronic trip computers and display items that I haven't figured out yet.

Over all, I really like it. Very comfortable, stylish, and fun to drive. Just hope I remember to turn on my headlights!

We just got our Murano S last night. Had Convenience package, floor mats, cargo protector, cargo cover.

26350 after a lot of arguing. The dealing got kinda nasty there for a while. The dealer wanted to play with us, and my wife was not amused. No worries though, 100 over invoice (according to Edmunds and the dealer slip) is a good deal I think for an 05.

We love the Mo, and it looks a lot like my 350z! They look cute together in the garage.

Just put a deposit on an S AWD. Have been watching the local market (ny metro) for a good lease deal and my only prereq was the AWD. Total out of pocket about 2500 which includes 1st month and new registration (which in ny is about 200). Monthly payment of 298. I backed out the sell price and came to about 26,800, which is right about the dealer invoice. Curious as to other buyer experiences in this area and to whether or not my math is right...residual at 58%, money factor about 2.3%. Feel uncomfortable about laying out so much on a lease but liked the deal after looking hard and living on edmunds for the past month. Thoughts??? thanks...

Just purchased a Platinum SL AWD with Sunroof/deflector, Premium package, cloth interior, splash guards, carpeted floor and cargo mats and cargo net for 29773 at Suntrup Nissan in St. Louis. Also i paid 1370 for the 60month/100K warrenty that originally they offered it to me for 1875. MSRP was 33,510 and invoice was 30,863. I felt i got a pretty good deal being almost 1k under invoice. Now i spent 5 hrs arguing on price but got what i wanted. I would never shop there again cause the sale people were rude and made me wait 1.5 hrs for financing which went very smoothly.

Any idea what incentives might still be there for any new leftover 2004 Muranos? Thanks in advance!

If you are shopping in S. FL by zandmo

For those of you out there shopping around in the S. FL area, Endicott Nissan of Pompano offers deals you can't beat.

Here is what I got from them:

05 SL FWD with Touring Package, Mobile Entertainment System, Floor Mats, Splash Guards and Cargo Protector. This came to $32,340. Invoice on this would have been $32,780 or so.

Here is my advice when going to any dealer. Go in with numbers in hand. Nissan Dealers get a $600 hold back on Muranos right now. This means that they are paying Invoice - $600. When you negotiate, tell them you know about the hold back, and that you want a portion of this. Some dealers are willing to deal, others aren't.

Endicott also gave me +$350 over Kelley B.B. on my trade in, another thing most dealers won't do. It seems they are more interested in moving cars by numbers, not by sale price.

Finally, without the DVD player (post factory installed), I would have payed $30,540 (Touring package and other accessories included). I gave them $1800 for the DVD player installation (something, that I could have had at another for $1350, but was paying about $2K more to buy it there).

Bottom line, have your numbers prepaired. If anybody wants to have the spread sheet I printed out and took to the dealer, I will give it to you. The only thing you will have to re-calculate and edit are your taxes and trade in numbers. You can also adjust your invoice price, sale price, etc... as you feel necessary. But if you go in and tell them somebody else gave you a "this price", and the price is below the $600 hold back, the dealer will know you are lying to him.

Email me at BHarbaughcfl.rr.com if you need more information!

Thanks!
