I got my SL AWD loaded back in August from Rosen Nissan in Gurnee, IL and I got it for $2085.00 under invoice(this included a $500.00 rebate from Nissan)....I did everything over the internet and the only time I stepped into the dealership was to sign the paperwork and pick up my new car. It was by far, the best car buying experience I have ever had. I believe that Rosen has a dealership up near Milwaukee.

I have a 06 S AWD that only has 9 months left. I figured this economy was perfect to re-up my 06 to an 09. I was floored when I went in and looked at the 09 SL with leather, xm and the reverse camera deal. I expected to pay less than my current lease (350) with little to nothing down. The sticker on the SL was 28 and change... I offered 1k down at 360 per month or 0 down and 380 a month. Of course I wanted 12k per year. They told me to fly a kite.. Any advice? My wife wants the murano for some reason or Id be in an expedition...

Compromise and buy an explorer. You also should wait another 3-6 months before trying to re-up. You have a bit too much left on your lease. Don't be in a hurry, the economy will be worse in 9 months if you take your lease to the end. Being in the catbird seat, you will be able to really deal on most anything. Don't worry -- be happy!! [haven't said that in a while]

I think that is what I am going to do. Is it true Nissan does not take blue book value at the end of the lease? The guy told me my buy out was like 18k and the truck wasnt worth 8.. When I asked about offering blue book value he said Nissan wouldnt deal at all which doesnt make any sense...

Auction value for a 06 sl in average condition is projected to be $13200 in January.
Add a couple of grand for costs and the dealer will have 15k in your car now if he puts it up for sale. It will be worth less in 9 months and at the end you will get a more realistic buyout price but whether or nissan hardballs you or not, the residual on your lease was surely higher than 12k. Nissan ate the difference and you can walk away with a smile. If you had bought that car 3 years ago and wanted to trade in august/sept you would be lucky to get 10-11K for it. Do the math on a 60 month loan and tell me where you would rather be sitting.

Went to a dealership in Charlotte, NC. They really didn't want to negotioate with us at all. For a LE AWD with Nav, list $40645, price they were going to sell lit to us for was about $36 and change, $400 over invoice. Not near what everyone else was getting based on this forum, of $2k below invoice. Any suggestions?

Negotiate a price with my dealership for thousands less -- fly in and drive home or have it shipped to your door. You will get what you want without any hastle and save big bucks. I can post my email in my profile then delete it if you really want to buy one. I would leave off the navigation though --- very expensive and the potable garmin models are excellent and cheap. A poster flew in from connecticat and saved $2700 over his local dealers -- the flight cost $300. He drove it home and is very happy. They have lots of LE's one with awd list $38835 sell $32734. Just $6101 under msrp so you may not be tempted. They will work a fair lease off that price if that is your preference. Let me know and I will give you the name and number.

Jay, yes, I would love to know who this dealer is so I can give them a call. I know you can post the name of the dealer but not the number. If there is a certain person I should talk to, please let me know how I can get that from you.

Thanks again!
