the $1000 incentive program is for folks who have leases only - there is no other program that Nissan is offering.

I just got a quote of $25,800 on a Murano S AWD with convenience package from a dealer. Is this a good deal? Can I get them lower or is this the best I can do? I am a first time car buyer and am new to the process.

I would not wait until the end of the year as Nissan is doing a pretty good deal this month. Every dealer will have a different price until close to the end of the month because there are no official incentives but there is $500 dealer cash and if a particular dealer hits their goal they will get a $1000 dealer cash. At my dealership the number is way high and business has been a bit slow and I work at one of the largest in the midwest. Not sure what is going on in New York or other parts of the county. I have been quoting all Muranos at $900 below invoice and I have not lost a deal yet so this is likely the best you are gonna do this month. There is a overabundance of Murano inventory but I do not think this will last until December and I bet next month Nissan will make the $500 dealer cash a customer rebate next month but the net price will likely be the same. Good luck and the Murano is a awesome crossover. BTW you do not need all wheel drive as this is a front wheel drive and unless you live on a steep driveway or do plan on going off road the front wheel drive with the standard VDC is fine. unless you are leasing as the AWD has a better residual.

On the Carmax.com web site, they are showing new 2009 Muranos for $1,500 to $1,700 under invoice at their White Marsh, Maryland store. These same vehicles were only $1,000 under invoice just last month. Seems like Muranos are not moving well which bodes well for an educated buyer.

I agree! An educated buyer who does a little research and is ready to stand firm can get more than $900 under invoice easily. There are no incentives now except the lots full of Muranos so if you can then wait till the End-Of-Year sales. A consumer buying an SUV in this market of high gas prices is in the power seat, don't let car salesman convince you otherwise!

invoice is 27,071 (destination charge included). 2% nissan holdback is ~$440.

looks like a good price. if it were me, i would take my chances and wait until the end of november for the best deal but if you want the car now then go ahead and get it and feel good about it. theres no specials going on right now and you got that price so imagine what price you could get at the end of year when all car makers are having sales...

What is going on at the end of November that would make it worthwhile to wait for? Do dealers (especially Nissan) have special deals going on that end on 30-NOV?
