I feel the internet/email price was better, one dealer did not honor their internet price and claimed there were all other fees that would be added onto that. This was obviously a sales tactic. I found the larger dealers honored their internet price (the one that didn't was a smaller/lower volume dealer).
I endend up with 2 dealers that I thought were offereing me the best prices; I got one price quote that was $1000 under invoice and another that was $1500 under invoice. I don't have the paperwork right in front of me but I think I paid tax about $1700, doc ~$150, title ?, plate transfer~83?...(taxes were adjusted for my trade).
I also considered the highlander but felt the Murano was better sized, more sporty, and more "modern".

Wow, so you were able to get an 09 SL Murano for $1500 UNDER invoice??? The dealer holdback is around $938 under invoice (for all the gizmos) so you were tapping into the profit the owner paid Nissan for the fleet of cars. It would be great if you could post all the options of your car, the price you paid, and how you were able to get your price so low. Thanks!

i am going to contact my dealer today to find out if this should be happening. I was wondering if it had anything to do with AWD. I always had a 4 x 4.I will let you know what I find out.

That's phenomenal, and I hope the sign of a pricing trend.

Please share all the details with us, and the name of the dealer. That kind of price may be worth a trip!!

I think it just bears mentioning that you can't read too much into what people are paying, especially when a trade is involved. It is very easy for a dealer to give you a "great deal" on the new car, but really just be moving numbers from a trade.

I just don't want everyone thinking that dealers give Muranos away at $1500 below invoice every day. There's something else going on in that deal (i.e. a trade) that affects what the numbers really are.

Just some food for thought!

Something isn't right here. There is no way that a dealer will go $1000 to $1500 under invoice. Are you sure it is invoice or MSRP?

I got an SL AWD
Dual Panel Moonroof
Premium package
tech package
Navigation
Leather
Splash guards
Cross bars
Floor mats (amazing you have to pay for floor mats)
& wheel locks
I pd $33,245 (-all the tax, title, etc)
I know inovice was $34, 764 (without the wheel locks)
I had a trade so I am sure that helped, also bought it on March 31st, last day of the month and quarter and from a large dealer that was trying to have the most sales in the region. I did the deal over the internet for the price of the car and worked on the trade when I actually showed up. Hope this helps,
