I think Nissan wants to make sure that the 2009 Murano lauch is classified as a success, so now that supply is more than adequate, they are rewarding based on sales volume.   Manufacturers report unit sales each month. Replying to: 2009holdout (Apr 02, 2008 10:16 am) It so happens in Mass. one of my local dealers who "offered" to sell me the 09 LE AWD at just about invoice now claims that all over the USA they are selling like hot cakes - well over invoice even over MSRP. If you believe that I've got a bridge to sell you. His boss the general manager tells me leasing is way off because of the low residual and high money factor and yet as of April 1, Nissan rates did not change for leasing. The salesman claims people are willing to lease for mid to high $600's and I cannot fathom that at all. My 05 Murano lease was up 1 month ago but I extended month to month for 90 days hoping something would change. I cannot bring myself to pay over $650/month for a lease on a Nissan, no matter how terrific the vehicle. On the other hand the BMW X3 and X5 also have high money factors - maybe it really is the economy. I looked at the Infinit EX-35 - a dream car ride, fantastic available options and significantly higher priced that the Murano yet great lease deals. I can lease it for 39 mos with 17K and every option available for low to mid $500's paying only $1600 in fees OTD. The only problem is it is just a little too small inside, almost a cramped feeling. The ride is really superb though. The FX also has great deals but the ride is so much rougher. I have never had this much trouble leasing the car I wanted before now.

Looks more like $304 + tax? ...to get that 'preferred' package. If the difference is truly roadside assistance I'd ask for the difference back. You shouldn't need roadside assistance on a vehicle with less than 100,000 miles... They will bring $5 worth of gas tho.. AAA would be cheaper I imagine. When I asked about the Gold Preferred, he mentioned the navigation and stereo and the higher final total price of $1,985, which I paid (there wasn't any sales tax charged as far as I know).   I just found this Nissan warranty brochure and it defines more of what is covered (although I still haven't found the definitive list on any document so far): http://www.nissanusa.com/pdf/owning/Gold.pdf   I am reading from the above brochure that the Gold Preferred does cover "68 additional audio/video components" as well as "20 high wear components including belts and hoses." I'd say you were misled unless they can tell you specifically what the $300 more for preferred is going to be.

After all, it is MY responsibility to be sure I know what I'm buying. If I don't understand anything, I only have myself to blame. I talked with the salesman today and he said that with the Nissan warranty, it covers everything except for a small list of exceptions. He also said he'd have the finance manager mail me that list, since I didn't leave the lot with one after purchasing the Gold Preferred extended warranty. Oh, have I mentioned lately that I LOVE my '09 Murano?

Based on many posts, it appears that the end of the month may be the best time to negotiate a killer deal. I am looking for an '09 Murano and am about to make first contact with the internet departments of the many dealers in my area (central Wisconsin). Should I wait till the end of the month????? I've been checking out this forum for a few months and been contacting my local Nissan dealers for Murano $$$'s. But to be honest the more I read about 1st generation tranny problems the more I'm leaning toward Toyota/Honda products. My '00 Maxima has been decent yet ate through 5 sets of front rotors, a slipping tranny but nothing else major with 136k on the clock.    So I'm a little trigger shy of pulling it on another Nissan. I'm a gizmo nut and when you compare the Murano to better mpg CR-V/RAV 4/Rogue they've got little to offer.    I'm going to pull the trigger and a couple of weeks and need to make a decision ASAP.    Perhaps a nice incentive or low APR could sway me back to Nissan???
