2009 Murano Incentives by promike

I'm in Northern KY close to Cincinnati, Oh and I received an email from a dealer that had quoted me $7-800 over invoice for $200 under invoice. I suspect Nissan is offering incentive money to dealers until end of month.

Has anyone seen an Aero kit on any of the Murano's they are looking at? I'd can't seem to find pictures on the net.

bmr, there might be a typo in your numbers there...i can't believe that a 43k murano had an invoice of 31k. i sold nissans for 2 years, and there was nothing in our lineup that even had half that amount as a markup.

did you mean 34k msrp? just wanted to clarify

Any idea when Edmunds is going to update the TMV? Still showing list price as TMV. As evidenced by this thread, that would no longer seem to be accurate.

Edmund's TMV is never accurate. I've always bought for way less. Usually you can buy just about any vehicle at invoice or less if you are patient and deal only with the internet sales people.

You may well be right, at least to a point. Depends on the vehicle and the demand for it. Am pricing Murano LE against Highlander LTD.

One of the problems (at least with Toyota) is determining what exactly constititutes "invoice". Toyota lists destination, TDA (advertising), Holdback, and Whsl. Financial Reserve as seperate line items in the make-up of invoice. Very confusing (no doubt deliberatly so) and I have a quote for $500 above that number. This works out to be about $600 below TMV. The price is also in-line with Fitzmall which I tend to use as a guideline.

Your term "way less" is a bit vague. On a vehicle that lists in the high 30's, way less to me is at least $1000-1500. I freely admit that I reach the point quickly where I am not willing to get an ulcer over a 1/2 to 1% difference in price. I'm dealing with Thompson Toyota in Doylestown, PA - they have been there a long time and have an excellent reputation in the community.

We'll see how I make out at the local Nissan dealer who has also been there many years.

Like I said in an earlier post, they are $200 under invoice here and $300 under at Fitzmall. "Way less" than Edmunds TMV. I agree with about Toyota invoice. They also include regional advertising on their invoice.

Everyone is not buying these under invoice - and where I am at, they are selling in record numbers. A very respectable price is about $500 over invoice on an LE, that'll pay your sales person about a $100 commission! That'll give you about a $3000 discount off sticker. Anything less, they make a mini. What ever happened with the Consumer Reports rule that you should pay 4-8% above true cost?
