I have a 2005 Murano, live in South Africa drive on farmroads. I have had my vehicle at the dealer. They kept it for a week-end, but could not find the same jerking as it just happens now and then. They did put on computer and all was ok. 2 days nothing, and then just a light jerk, like fuel did not get through for a milisecond..They also did clean the air filter (dusty roads). Sometimes the revs drop low, especially if I drove at high speed and have to slow down. As i start to pick up speed, ussually then the jerking appears. Most of the times the vehicle is fine. But 15000 more k and my Maintenance plan expires, and then I sit with this. What can I do? It sounds like a small problem, but considering selling. But how can you sell knowing this happens. Any advise would be appreciated?

To begin, I do not mean to be facetious when I post this question: For all recent Murano owners who are now beset with mechanical or workmanship problems, did you at all consider going with a Korean manufacturer who can offer warranties almost double that of Nissan's? Did you test drive the Hyundai Santa Fe? I'm simply trying to figure out the psychology behind purchases of one nameplate over another.

I have an 03 Murano SL AWD, sometimes (ususally when it's hot out) if i'm crawling in traffic or parking lot. I press the gas pedal & my murano will get into a mode of hesitation. It will only happen when in very low rpm, but sometimes it takes 3 seconds before I can move forward. (scarry in traffic) It will not stop doing this, unless I stop/restart the engine. Is anyone else having this problem? |

My son bought a 04 coming off lease and although it is most always garaged in the Chicago area the grille seems to be peeling, is it plastic or metal? is this problem occuring to someone else? THe rest of the car is fine with no scratches or dings. This may a repeat because I was only able to read up to page 30. Is there a recall on this?

My factory warranty on my 2006 ends in July. So far no trouble.... Any idea what an extended would run me at this point? (I guess only aftermarket warranty would apply-Not Nissan?) I plan to keep it another 3 years or so and average about 8,000 miles per year. That may change as the kids go off to school and I visit them and work more. Is the warranty worth the investment? What major components are most trouble prone. The main reason I like warranties is that I don't have to research and question and worry about who is fixing it, are they fixing the right thing, am I being overcharged. I don't have a "normal mechanic" as my last car had extended warranty (got that thrown in as part of my deal with Dodge) and my Chev truck is out of warranty, but we've been lucky. I assume it will be $1,000+. If 1,000 I'd do it, if more maybe I'd just put that money in a rainy day fund (or a broken car fund) and keep it. Thoughts anyone??
