#1881 of 2342 2005 Nissan Murano headlights cracked
Aug 03, 2007 (9:15 am)
This winter, we noticed that the headlights had collected some condensation on the interior. well one very cold night we woke up to cracked headlights. both sides had cracked. we are thinking the condensation froze and cracked the headlights but the dealer will not replace them as a defect. they think that somehow a collision caused this. but anyone with half a brain can see that the cracks originate from the inside out. has anyone else had this problem?

I have a 2007 model and I also had the squeek noise right form the day we took it from the lot. I brought it back in a few weeks later and they ended up replacing the brack pads. Something about a known problem was spoken. I have no squeeks though. I also was not charged if that helps.
#1883 of 2342 Murano has weird clicking noise when starting
Aug 06, 2007 (4:31 pm)
I have a 2003 Nissan Murano SL AWD. I went to the driveway to start the car and it would not start. It exhibits a clicking noise. The battery is fine because the power windows still work, the cd player works and the lights turn on. What could it be?
#1884 of 2342 SECURITY+PLUS Gold coverage
Aug 06, 2007 (4:52 pm)
I needed the a/c repaired two months ago. It was not up to par and they claimed to fix it but it still sucks and they said the A/C wasnt covered under waranty. Also they said i needed to change my fuel pump and said that that was also not covered with the extended warranty. I HATE NISSANS!! well just the 2003 MURANO!!

Homeouners reply to SECURITY+ Gold coverage. When purchasing this warrentee they sell it as same coverage as the first 36 mo. coverage. My service manager tells the sales dept. to "not misrepresent the PLAN." Its too bad the paper its written on isnt softer because thats all its good for!! you know, like the index sheets of the Sears Robuck catalog in the out house.
#1886 of 2342 OK, so where do you buy a warranty? (homeouner)
Aug 06, 2007 (6:08 pm)
If Nissan's extended warranty does not cover the A/C and the fuel pump...and I would question this, where does one get a full wrap policy for a Murano? My search finds very few selling in California...only Nissan, and when I buy it, I will certainly take these posts with me...no A/C, no fuel pump, etc...before I buy it, and if those things are not covered, the car gets turned back after a great three year lease.

Believe me when I tell you ,DO NOT buy extended warranty coverage that does not have Nissan name on it. I was sold a policy from my Nissan dealer from Automotive Professional,Inc.,that is worthless and I paid huge bucks for it. To top that off,I got a letter from them 2 weeks ago telling me that they had filed for bankruptcy! If you don't buy extended coverage at the time you purchase the car it seems you are throwing your money.

Thanks for all the help. i posted previously about the car failing to start. it kinda sounds like the noise when you first start the car times 100 with an added popping noise. I hope its not too bad and i hope its covered by the extended warranty.

I would like to know the total money taken in from the Nissan companys extended warantee's sales compared to the money paid out to fix failed partsor problems on the cars covered. From the reports on this forum the profit must be very large as the coverage seems to be very minimal.

I'm with you,I'd like to know the stats on monies paid out compared to taken in from warrantees.I know the one I purchased is worthless.Stupid me,this is the 2nd time I've been suckered in by extended warrantees. Never again!
