My 2003 Murano had the same problem as you describe. I just took it in to the dealer to have the problem fixed. My dealer is covering it, since I had the car in for the same problem while under warranty. Dealer supposedly ordered parts at that time, but never called me back to fix the problem.
Nissan published a service bulletin on this.
Service Bulletin Num : 05043

Summary: 2003-2005 NISSAN MURANO; DRIVERS SEAT NOISE AND / OR ROCKS BACK AND FORTH

I have the same year, and same mileage as your Murano. Just wondering if you had noticed any noises or issues with motor mounts ?
I did not buy an extended warranty. I really like the Murano. Consumer Reports, reports the newer Murano's have even a better repair record and less problems than the 2003. Considering buying a new one, and getting rid of the 2003
#1877 of 2342 Loss of power, worse mileage after replacing motor mount
Jul 09, 2007 (10:12 am)
I'm feeling a slight loss of power, and worse mileage after I had the right motor mount replaced - used to get 20.5 mpg or higher on average, now only getting 19.5 mpg after 1 full tank.
Could they have messed things up when they replaced the motor mount? I suspose the engine/some wires have to be removed to replace the motor mount and something might have gotten loose in that process. Anything I should re-check? like spark plug wires and anything else?
#1878 of 2342 rear heating vents problem
Jul 09, 2007 (11:54 am)
Hi - I know this is strange posting about heating problems when its 90 degrees but just recently found this board. I have an 06 and when it is cold out and the climate control is set above 70 the heat works fine from the front vents but only intermittently from the rear side vents. I called my dealer and they said they would look at it but never had a chance to bring it in. The ac blows from the rear vents all the time when its hot out. I have a toddler so I'm constantly checking the rear vents. Anyone else notice a problem like this?

Yup it's known issue with the Murano.I rented a 06 for a long drive and the next morning the brakes howled.Thats the best way I could put it.It was LOUD.I loved the ride so much I bought a 07 SL AWD.The brakes on the 07 are better as far as loud BUT they still squeak when I hit the brakes. It don't happen all the time but it sucks when it does.I'm thinking about taking mine back and have them fix it.It's not normal but it's something that alot of Murano owners have had to deal with.
#1881 of 2342 2005 Nissan Murano headlights cracked
Aug 03, 2007 (9:15 am)
This winter, we noticed that the headlights had collected some condensation on the interior. well one very cold night we woke up to cracked headlights. both sides had cracked. we are thinking the condensation froze and cracked the headlights but the dealer will not replace them as a defect. they think that somehow a collision caused this. but anyone with half a brain can see that the cracks originate from the inside out. has anyone else had this problem?

I have a 2007 model and I also had the squeek noise right form the day we took it from the lot. I brought it back in a few weeks later and they ended up replacing the brack pads. Something about a known problem was spoken. I have no squeeks though. I also was not charged if that helps.
#1883 of 2342 Murano has weird clicking noise when starting
Aug 06, 2007 (4:31 pm)
I have a 2003 Nissan Murano SL AWD. I went to the driveway to start the car and it would not start. It exhibits a clicking noise. The battery is fine because the power windows still work, the cd player works and the lights turn on. What could it be?
#1884 of 2342 SECURITY+PLUS Gold coverage

I needed the a/c repaired two months ago. It was not up to par and they claimed to fix it but it still sucks and they said the A/C wasnt covered under waranty. Also they said i needed to change my fuel pump and said that that was also not covered with the extended warranty. I HATE NISSANS!! well just the 2003 MURANO!!
