Not interested in the Mustang as it never caught my attention. But when you have media coverage, and forums dedicated to an obvious flaw/defect, call it what it is. All cars have defects more or less but this issue here is affecting not all but quite a substantial amount of GTO owners.

after proper alignment the GTO remains one of the best cars I've ever owned - out of more than 20. i really miss satellite radio but I might drive the GTO into the ground even without it. GTO is so great for road trips and feeding dust to drivers of pseudo-fast vehicles like non-shelby/non-gt500s, just for example.   that new knight rider show looks good, i missed the pilot though. maybe it's downloadable from slowercarsthatsellmorethanGM.com .

If the internet had been popular in the late eighties there would have been reams of information about the FOX body Mustang front end alignment problems, which were basically not fixable, unlike the GTO's. If you have the camber correct in the GTO the tires don't rub.

I see this is an uphill battle and not quite sure why reference is constantly made to the Mustang as the discussion could then lead to any and all manufacturers who've had bad models. In the end for me, it's not like I'm going into this purchase blind but just calling a spade a spade or a lemon a...... . But then I like lemonade anyway.

here is my take, test drove both extensively. there was no comparison. the gto was much more comfortable, more of an adult car, better dash board, better looking, had the ls2 engine and less expensive. what cinched it was the width of the car and room in the front. if i ever have to deal with the suspension issues which i have not yet, i will. its still a very unique automobile and a great daily driver. rr70

Showed him all the "BLOGS" on GTO Inner Tire Wear problems...also told him I wanted a proper wheel alignment ....he had a blank stare.......He said he will speak to Pontiac on the matter........Made an appointment for the following week.   Following week brought the car in.....spoke to service manager...he said "pontiac has no comment" leave the car for inspection...Lateron, called me ...told me car needed new controlarms/bushings/bearings.........also wheel alignment......had to wait for new parts........2 days later picked up car.................NO CHARGE...............covered by warranty Here is the Rub:                       No where on my invoice did it say ....INNER TIRE RUB....JUST "noise in front end....car pullsto left" How about that??? Car drives great.....but for how Long???

I'm in mourning.    I had located in Massachusetts a silver six-speed 2006 GTO with 10,600 miles. The dealer was willing to let it go for 24,750. I had never driven a GTO prior to visiting the dealer and boy what a surprise. The car is a power house! I felt like I went on an amusement ride after I test drove it. Right there my mind said: 'this car is so impractical - what!? with all that power- at a time when gas is so expensive' and I told the dealer no. Then next day called back said I'd take it, called another day again and said no and then called and said yes and lastly called and said no. In the end I went to look at another car (Acura TL) that I thought I'd like but I kept thinking about the GTO. Unfortunately the dealer had sold the car when I called. I'm now here in mourning. I'm gonna get a GTO because I'm smitten and it's a rare ride.
