I think your confusing the full cover front mask with the bug deflector. The bug deflector does not come off & On, it stays on your hood and its dark smoke grey in color . Mine was installed by Mazda & made by Mazda.

Hi,
I purchased a 2006 Mazda3 sedan with a 5speed manual transmission A few months after I purchased it I wanted to get a cruise control installed so I went back to the dealership to order one and they said there wasn't a cruise control for a manual transmission
Is this true?? Has anyone got a cruise control installed on there Mazda3 w/ a MT?
thanks
bobh.

I have the front nose mask on my 3 and love it. The car looks cool with it and protects it. I drive in a windy environment and totally need all the protection that I can get.

Thanks... So its not a pain to get on & off? I take my car to the car wash every week, week & a half; incase anyone wonders why, we're not allowed to wash our cars where I live...
*Mark3b- I know in the previous posts the bug deflector question sounded dumb but I got to see a pic of what it looks like & I have yet to see any car in my state w/ one on... thats why I was like Thanks though!

Hey mazdrvr- No problem. Here in Canada we need bug deflectors as the mosquito is our national bird and they are more common then the Front nose Mask due to our lousy changing weather here with the Rain & Snow.

I need the front mask because of where I live, there are many trucks that have small rocks fly out from under them. I live where three main freeways meet up for the state of CA. I have seen cars without the mask and there brand new cars are already all chipped up and they look very bad.
I dont take mine off when I wash my car, only to wax it. I dont drive this car much, therefore, I wash it once a month.

I know what you mean by the small rocks... I live in NV. where there is endless construction & trucks . Oh yeah, also another great thing (not) is the dust, when the wind picks up; especially recently w/ all the winds we've been getting! A car wash has been lasting about 2 days at most.
Thanks, I think I will be getting the mask.

You can get the factory installed cruise control installed on your 3i. I did it to mine ('06 Mazda 3i with manual transmission). All you need to get is the brake switch for cars with cruise and the cruise control switches for the steering wheel. You can install it yourself, switching out the brake switch is easy(well, space is kind of tight). Changing out the switches on the steering wheel requires taking off the airbag. I had the dealer do this step for me, I was just too scared. But it all works fine, I even have the cruise control lights light up in the instrument panel.
Just check this link out for more detailed instructions:

Does the airbag work?
