| I believe the 2.9% financing is now available for RSXs. Does anyone know what type of FICO score is required to qualify for the special rate? | |

Ok, I was one of those people and I apolgize, I wasn't trying to sell the guy, just to help. I am not in the business of helping car salesmen believe me. Anyways, I believe for most great rates, a score of 740-750 is required. Above 700 you have a shot. My score was 720ish and I got a great rate for a used RSX. I bought a 2002 Acura RSX Type S, DSM, with fog lights already installed, and sunroof visor (which I hate and is coming off this week) for $20,100 at Heritage AutoPlaza in Alexandria, VA. I wanted to get them down to about $19,500, but they gave me $2500 for my 94 Accord EX manual, cloth, some body rust, so I was happy with that. I was expecting about $2K for the Accord, so it balanced out. They were nice, I mean you had to negotiate (they wanted $20988 to start) but it worked out fine. In terms of new Acura dealers, a friend just bought a silver RSX automatic from the dealership in Gaithersburg which gave him a really good deal, it was under $19K, something like $18700. They had to move the RSX's in order to get more TSX's... so they were willing to deal and were extremely nice. Do not go to Acura in Chantilly or Falls Church, they were rude and wouldn't even let me test drive a TSX unless I was willing to put down a deposit. Anyways, hope this helps someone. I am going to post my RSX impressions on the other board... |

Hi edberg_dc - Thanks for re-posting! Also, good notes; people have a better understanding of the real price when you also include the trade-in allowance/details.... I look forward to hearing more about your RSX impressions in the other RSX discussion. In case you weren't aware, you'll find a direct link to that discussion in the Helpful Links on the left side of this page. See you around Town Hall! Revka |

I got my, auto, desert silver RSX w/ leather and a spoiler in March for 20,700 in N. NJ. I was able to bounce around from dealer to dealer and received a few internet quotes before settled on the closest dealer. If anyone has gotten any good deals lately let me know. My friend is in the market for one. BTW I know the financing is really good now, but if you need a little leverage say you got approved for one of those on-line loans w/ the low interest rate. The dealership said that they would give me 4.9%, but when I called back they said they could only get me a 5.5%. Baloney! So I applied got a 4.49% from Peoples First (4.99% if payment is not debited from your bank account). I had no intention of using it to get a lower rate but when I called to make sure that they would take the blank check, I was conveniently approved for a 4.18% w/o getting the payment directly debited from my checking. |
