$19,750 for MT s with leather and comfort pkg. MRSP was $22,820. Rosenthal Mazda, Gaithersburg, MD. Dealer financed for 42months at 3.6%. Nice people, easy to do business with. Negotiated entirely over phone and email. Contact via cars.com. Ran into an exceptional number of sleezeballs, who did not want to give info, but tried desperately to get me into the showroom so they could apply pressure. Russel Mazda catonsville md was the worst. I think it is very important to nail down a price before going to the showroom to buy the car. Re mileage: 500mi. is a lot, especially if it is a MT. I passed on a number of cars because of high mileage. I lucked out at Rosenthal, and got one with 4mi. Prob. because they had a fairly large inventory. Most lots are running out, which means the remaining cars will tend to have high mileage. |

can work both ways. a personal visit seems to invite better responses and willingness to deal, rather than talking over the phone. my experience. |

The way I got my 6s is pretty circuitous. First, the particulars: * Speed Yellow (yeah, baby!) * AT, V6 * Roof, Bose, Leather-Comfort * Appearance (but no rear spoiler, bummer) MSRP $26,055 Invoice $23,611 I paid invoice + TTL, less $1000 loyalty rebate, less $250 Mazda credit, less $250 RevItUp coupon (Thanks, miata10!). Now the crazy story. I first located it in Merced (120 miles) from SF-SJ Bay Area. Since it was so far away, I didn't really consider it, but the inventory of Yellow s's here was dwindling fast. In late August, I found it at Menlo Mazda, right up the peninsula (22 miles away). Drove right up to see it. Turns out, it was already traded to another dealer in Salinas (80 mi. to the South). Offered BTW, does anyone have any suggestion on how much it would cost to add a spoiler? vudini |

Forgot to mention. All this and 0% financing for 5 years (which I chose over the $1500 rebate). Savings over the normal 4% loan over 5 years would be around $2,500. |

| As I wrote in Post #255, I visited my local (Tampa, Florida) Mazda Dealer the Saturday before Labor Day (8/30) and they had NO clue (or at least played dumb) to '04 Mazda6's. I was dead serious that day as I sat in front of the Manager, with my downloaded (.pdf) '04 price / option sheet and I came with checkbook in hand, ready to place an order and drop down a deposit. Well obviously I didn't place an '04 order, but I DID tell him other people I read about on the Mazda6 Forum in edmunds.com have placed their orders and I think that some Dealer in Santa Cruz (?), CA already HAS 04's on their lot. Well four days later (Thurs. 9/4) I get a call from the Dealer in Tampa and he says he has "great news" for me !! He will be able to start taking orders for '04's in about SIX WEEKS, around mid-October. I said.... but didn't you hear me when I told you people in California have already placed orders and I think they may actually HAVE 04's on their floor right now !! He told me that California is the "Port of Entry" and naturally they will get them first. I reminded him that the Mazda6's are MADE IN U.S.A. (Michigan ?) and what is he talking about ?? He said if I am interested, to call him in six weeks, and he quickly said goodbye. Am I confused ?? Do I have WRONG FACTS ???? Am I just dreaming this up ?? I will be the first to admit I am wrong, but PLEASE.... someone out there.... please give me the FACTS on ordering 04's !! (and if ANY Florida Mazda Dealers are reading THIS, please contact me and I'll drive over tomorrow and place an order for my '04 !!) | |
| We bought our 6i a few weeks ago from Faulkner Mazda in Philadelphia. They were one of the few that had a 6i with SAB/SAC. Did all negotiations via email. Can't say enough good things about the experience. Got the car for $100 over invoice with college rebate and 0% interest. I drove up there on a Thursday nite, got in late but the sales people stayed after closing to get the car ready for my drive home. Highly recommend them. | |
| My math is fine. I just described it poorly. MSRP was $24,820. I got the $1500 rebate. Invoice including $150 marketing allocation $22,710. I paid $23,060 plus TTL. Bottom line: it was $350 over invoice. BTW, it was the last V5 5 spd at the dealership without the Sport Package. | |

| I'm baffled, did you pay over invoice then? Why? If there's a rebate of $1500 and it's the end of the year the car should cost about $1500 under invoice - so around 21,210 or thereabouts. | |
