I'm looking at an 04 6i-auto 4- cylinder with 12,000 miles. Edmunds pricing for my area is almost 17K. The dealer list for it is 16,400. It seems from what I'm reading here that a new one can almost be bought cheaper. Anyway, how does 16, 400 sound for a clean used one?

Is there anything else I'll need to use this rebate other than the coupon itself?

Hey folks! I'm going to be buying a new car in the next week or so and have narrowed my choices to the Mazda3 and Mazda6. The 3 s is a blast to drive, especially with the 5-speed manual. I've also driven both automatic and manual versions of the 6 s, but they're a little more money than I want to spend. I've located a dealer with a Lapis Blue 6 i Sport model with Bose/Moonroof and 5-speed manual for $16,998. The car is a demo and has about 8,000 miles on it, but never titled. I priced a new one online thru Edmunds TMV and a few other sources and it looks like a good deal. My biggest concern is- does the 6 i 5-speed have enough power? I know the 2.3L is more than adequate in the 3, but I've not driven the 6 with it. This particular dealer is 150 miles from me, so it will be Saturday before I can go check it out. Any input on the matter? Anyone else have the 2.3L/5-speed combo? Thanks for any help!

Replying to: allfiredup (Aug 31, 2005 8:58 am) You can always test-drive a 6i at a closer dealer just to try one out. Consider that a new '05 model like that should be obtainable for around 18.5K. |

Replying to: allfiredup (Aug 31, 2005 8:58 am) As an additional comment - I ran into similar pricing issues and it basically came down to, would I rather have an additional $20/month in car payments for a more loaded 6s, or settle for a more base model 6s.....I went with the base model 6s - all it has is the sports package, and a stickshift....if I had it to do over again, I would have spent the extra $20/month for the added options. like the bose, a moonroof, and interior the color I really wanted. To me, to make that adjustment all it means is eating out 1 fewer times per month. Anyway - those are my comments. While the 6i isn't like driving a fore escort or anything, it isn't like driving a performance sedan either. |
