Call them(the dealers up). Would they lied to you? There are usually a plaque around the service area and it shows how many cars were sold last year. The one I purchase from has banners in the showroom saying they were the highest sellers for the last 5 years. The plague stated they sold 850 Mazda cars last year. That's around 3-4 Mazdas a day, 90-120 a good month(minus the slow cold weather months around here).

MAC financing minimum by boats

Has anybody figured out what the minimum you have to borrow in order to get the $1000 financing rebate? $5000? $10000? Seems like the first part of the loan is all interest anyway and making payments over 3 or 4 months, the less the loan, the better... but I have no idea how this works... I'd just as soon pay cash for the car, but I don't want to be a fool about it...a discount is a discount is a discount... on the other hand, I don't want to end up going thru the loan process to save a hundred bucks in the end...

Thanks for any input...

I wanted to only finance $8000 on my car but the finance officer said I have to finance half ($12000) and make 3 payments. Can't wait to get my 1st bill and pay $11500 on my loan. Let see how much interest MAC will get now. Go to bankrate.com and use the loan calculator and see how paying a large 1st payment will reduce the cost of your loan.

$7000 is the minimum amount financed for 3 payments.

If the car is paid off early the dealer is charged back the incenitve....so if you pay off the car early make sure you find another dealer to service your car.

Well, called the salesman and he says "$7500 and make 3 payments"... bankrate.com is helpful because I can actually see its not going to cost me 900 dollars to the a $1000 rebate... I wasn't sure how the loan was structured... thanks you guys - sounds like it depends on the dealership/finance officer...

05 Mazda 6i (sport) shopping by swemo123

I have looked at a couple 05 Mazda 6i's and have two dealers that are matching each other at $21,194 (before incentives)... nothing fancy on the inside (beige interior, AT, redfire metallic paint, sport trim, and 17"... and the bose if they can get it...) This puts me at about $17,700 after rebates (w/ gerber)... and roughly $5,300 under MSRP.... Is this a good deal or should i be looking for more (especially w/ the 06 coming out just around there corner)... Any advice anyone

Andy, I think you can do better. With the Gerber rebate, you should be able to get $6,000 off MSRP...maybe even more if you wait until later in the month. Is the $21,194 price for a 6i without the bose/moonroof package?

MSRP 27,1

Paid 21,8 plus TTL after MAC cash. Wish i had known about the Gerber rebate sooner.

FYI,
Bought a 6i sport 5spd with bose, leather, and mirror for 5700 off MSRP using S plan, Gerber and MAC (total of $4000). Dealer charges $100 for doc, and $225(!) to add mirror on site, which diluted my savings. They took the Gerber without the original ad. Salesman said call F&I after 3 payments and threaten to refi, they'll drop the rate. S-plan included an additional $500 stair-step rebate. Thanks to you folks here for clueing me in on the Gerber.

More Rebates by jlam2

I found out there are more rebates out there. You just have to look really hard. Beside the listed rebate and Gerber rebate, there is the ACOG rebate. This rebate is given to doctors and their patients. The ACOG ad (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) can be found in a magazine called "Plum", which the ACOG sent to doctors who are members of the ACOG. Then go to mazdausa.com/family and sign up just like the Gerber rebate. The only problem is finding this magazine. Try going to the doctors office or your local university library. Also, if you live near Cinncinatti, Ohio-there is another unlisted rebate I found from the dealership. When I call to get a price for my Mazda 6s the saleman said,"Do you work for Proctor and Gamble and therefore qualify for a special rebate?". Like an idiot, I said no. Anyway, He clam up after that. I asked around and it's like a rebate of around $250. Oh well, You can't win all the time.
