I don't have them, but I would think 19s would be almost guaranteed to give you a harsher ride. Around here, the short sidewalls would mean bent rims in short order -- it's pothole season.

Does anyone know of a source for the little clip-on parts that fit on the back of the headlights? The white plastic piece that allows you to use a phillips screwdriver to adjust the lights is what I'm talking about. I just had my lights replaced at dealer cost since the dust/moisture cover sockets were damaged, and even the new lights come with only one of these little angle drives. The lights will accept 3 more on each side and having them would make adjusting the lights almost easy. The dealer says they are not available as a part, the junkyards around here don't have any, and neither do the body shops. Apparently all the 6 drivers are being good and not wrecking their cars.

I love my 18" 48 offset with 235 tire width. looks perfect on the car. in fact it can stand it's own against a merc parked next to it with those wheels.

there are some guys who have switched to 19's on mazda6club ... you may want to check out their comments over there. look for the wheels/ tires section and you should find some answers there. but be ready to roll your fenders!

I've had the M6 for a week which is loaded GTs and have the following impressions:

1) My car came with 18" wheels and Pirelli P Zeros. Can't see bigger wheels. Probably much more wheels and tires than the power of the car justifies

2) Don't see the big deal about Homelink. Programming seems to be a PITA and I have an extra garage door opener

3) Bose 200 watt stereo is seriously underwhelming. Considering speaker upgrades and an amp as well. This stereo should sound much better than it does. This is probably the biggest disappointment with the car other than the desire for more power

2005 Mazda 6 Tires by atc717

This forum is amazing and very helpful. Just a couple quick questions..I have a 2005 Mazda 6S. I just turned 30K on miles and my tires are almost shot. I might have a couple thousand left at best. The stock tires are Michelin Pilot's HX MXM4
(P215/05 R17 93V). What are good replacements. Does Michelin build a better tire for the car? Just curious what other people were replacing with..I'm not looking for high performance..just something that will last with a nicer ride. It seems like tires are an issue for this car collectively. Thanks for the help.

Check out Tirerack.com. You'll find tons of information about tires, and can enter your specific make and model to get the tires in your size, along with lots of test results and survey results, helping you find the tire best suited for your needs.

My replacements for my '04 6 were Yokohama Avid W4S, in the stock size, but a higher performance tire than the stock Michelins were. Excellent tires IMO.

A few things to keep in mind: I'd recommend H-speed rated or better, with a load rating of 91 or greater. Also, even if you don't go for Yokos, there are plenty of other quality choices that are just as good (or better) than Michelins (quieter, longer- lasting, better handling) at a fraction of the price of the Michelins.

Radio replacement? by m6user

My wife is not satisfied with the sound(she says it's tinny) of the stock unit in our 07 Mazda6 SV I4 auto. There are a number of aftermarket head units that incorporate bluetooth for cell phones and coordinate it with the car's audio system. I saw a good review on CNET of a Sony unit and I think it was about $250 for the unit. I'd be interested if anyone has replaced their stock unit with a replacement head unit that has bluetooth. How well does it work? How much was installation? Any other info would be great. We are not looking for huge sound or anything just a better sounding system. Thanks.

I can't answer your question but I too am very disappointed in my 07 Mazda 6 six speaker cd changer system. The bass is dead. It sounds like a thud. There is no deep bass resonation like I had with my Infinity system in my Jeep Liberty. The Mazda treble is tinny and after listening to the radio or a cd for a while, I just have to shut it off because the poor sound quality drives me nuts. I am looking for information on how to improve the sound quality with an amp or something. Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone upgraded their system to improve the sound quality?

I just put General Exclaim UHP's on our 2005 6s. These are summer tires. We have a set of Blizzaks for winter. Great tires, quiet, great turn in, haven't been able to make them squeal around sharp turns yet. They had a $50 gift card offer, but it ended earlier in August. $87 each from Tire Rack.

I know what you mean. I have a Tundra with stock system, nothing fancy at all that sounds a whole lot better than my Mazda. I listen to talk radio a lot so I didn't really notice it all that much until my wife pointed it out and then I compared the two and the Tundra's sounds great in comparison. It's quite a shame. That's why I am interested in this Sony head unit that incorporates bluetooth for your cell phone. I don't really want to get into installing amps and subwoofers and new speakers and all that but I would like some nicer sound and bluethooth would be great too. Hopefully, somone will read this and have some ideas.
