I've decided to buy a Titan in a 4x4 CC std. bed and would prefer the XE without the Big Tow pkg. (higher gear ratio = better mpg). I do plan to tow a boat (~4k lbs) and don't want to restrict myself from going somewhat heavier. What is it about the XE that makes it have a lower towing capacity (6,500 lbs vs 7,400 lbs) and GCWR (11,800 lbs vs 13,000 lbs) than an SE? Also, if I did get an SE with Big Tow is it just the lower gear ratio or are there some suspension differences too that increase towing capacity to 9,400 lbs? Since the Big Tow only comes with a Class IV hitch, do you really have 9,400 lbs. with it or do you have to use a wt. distributing hitch? Lastly, how much of a difference in mpg would I see with the lower gear ratio vs standard?

I ordered a King CabSE with bedliner and mats, no other options. So, hopefully it will be on the short-side of the wait cycle. You are right, I've only been waiting a week and it is SHEER TORTURE!

What's the scoop on curtain airbags for XE and SE Crew Cabs? I cannot locate an XE with an airbag on any lot. Full 6 passenger capacity is critical to me so I need the front bench seat. When I try to "configure" an SE with the airbag option I seemed to be forced to get bucket seats and/or add the high end sound, but according to the literature this should be possible. Curtain airbags and a bench seat is what I am looking for. Has anyone else been able to find a Titan with this combination?

but I'm not aware of the problem with the FM radio reception. As far as I know, the only reason for poor FM reception would be if the antenna connector was not fully seated in the receiver. But I assume that any dealer would find that problem if a customer complained.   Hey, jerrymcshane1, thanks for the article. If 100,000 Titans hurts Ford, wait until we increase the production. As long as y'all keep buying them, we'll keeping making them.   my0my0my, I believe that the SE is only available with side air bags when you get bucket seats. If you want a crew cab with bench seats and side air bags, you'll need to get an XE. I bet that is a rare option combination, which would explain why you can't find one, so you may have to order the vehicle you want.

Hello daughes,   When does Nissan plan to increase production of the Titan? Will demand for the truck dictate production or have the bean counters already decided how many will be produced on a yearly basis?   I think the power sunroof is a great option to offer with the Titan.....WHY does Nissan force you to pick-up (2) expensive options, DVD Mobile Theater and Side Airbag Package, with the sunroof?   Is it possible or will it be possible to order the sunroof without the other two options? Its great to have an inside guy on the forum....welcome!

Hello dauges,, Could you tell me why its difficult to get my door to shut with the windows up it seems there is to much pressure in the cabin because if I crack a window they shut very easy. And is the VDC something the dealer could install. By the way ive had so many people stare at this sweet ride its tough to stop smiling.

I saw one on the dealer's lot yesterday. Frankly, I think this may be one of the best kept secrets out there. The vehicle had a MSRP of a bit over $29K, and has virtually everything I would want.   I know most people will be looking at the upmarket SE and LE models, but the (not so) basic XE is also worth a hard look IMO.   Bob
