I too have been told that the Magnum R/T AWD has many earlier generation E-Class components. Either way my 2005 model (with 60,000 miles) performs extremely well in all weather and road conditions. It's a real hoot to drive. I dueled a Subaru WRX the other day and was able to pretty much hang with him all the way from zero to 90 mph (we had to stop at the next light). A lot of fun. He was very surprised.

So no one has any idea about how many of these cars came equipped with a Hemi, as opposed to a V-6?

navigation disc error by paget

For the last few months I have an intermitant nav error where it dings and states it can't read disc. I eject and put back in and for a few days it works. The dealership recommends buying a new disc and seeing if that fixes the problem ...$311 is too much ... Any thoughts?

Cancellation
On November 1, 2007, Chrysler announced that, as part of its restructuring plans, the Dodge Magnum would be one of four models discontinued after the 2008 model year. The production ended in late March, 2008. [4]

Yes, I think a lot of people are surprised at the quickness of the Magnum RT Hemi. I have surprised a lot of "hot rodder" out there and my Magnum is strictly stock. So yes, I agree, they are fun to drive and very very quick .

I own a 2006 AWD Magnum and my nav system recently started with the same problem. The disc only costs $199 at Dodge dealerships. I'm kind of leary about buying just a disc because I actually think it's the laser. The total costs for a new nav system is around $1200. I was hoping it would last until I trade in for a new Hemi-Challenger.

My Magnum is also a 2006 AWD. I spoke to Navteq tech support and the best they can recommend is to have the dealership put in a new disk and see if it fixes the problem. I am in the process of getting a new challenger (black) but need to sell my Magnum first.

Dodge Magnum Navagator by shogunsama

Dodge's navagation systems are messed up. On my wife's 2005 Magnum (first one on the Gulf Coast), after 2 years I ordered the new Disk, per owner's manual directions ($200), and it couldn't find the address either that the old disk couldn't find. Sent it back. Then the nav system wouldn't read the old disk. The dealer couldn't fix it and replaced the unit.

On my brand new 2009 Dodge Ram: The Navigator wouldn't work after 3 weeks. I am still waiting on the replacement unit. When it went it took out the vehicle information system under the speedometer, so none of that works either, and I have alarms chiming now for the past 2 weeks, having no idea what they are alarming about. The Nav unit looks and works the same as the one in my wife's Magnum, and I believe it is the same piece of crap as the one in her Magnum.

What a piece of crap they have stuck in the dash!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's enough to make a guy go Chevy next time.

I forgot about this posting, and would like to follow up on it... A few months after I posted this, my tranny went out on the way to work. This car started tearing up on me 600 miles, and never stopped. When DaimlerChrysler bought it back from me, it had 30,000 miles on it, and was still doing what it did from day 1. Rebuilt tranny, replaced tranny, rebuilt transfer case, replaced anti-swaybar bushings (shot at 16,000miles), the list goes on and on. The only thing I see when a Magnum drives by, is a big pile of S}{1T.

Can anyone out there help me out? I bought my 06 SRT-8 to have some fun in my old age. I am 67 and enjoy taking the car out to Thunerhill, Sears Point and Sacramento Raceway. I have no complaints at the drag strip. I know who to talk with to get more power. What I do not know is, whom to ask about high speed handling. Here's the problem. I joined NASA in order to have fun going fast legally. I do not plan to progress any further than HPDE2. But even at that, I get complaints that when I hit the straight, I pull the trigger and, run away only to be overhauled in the twisty bits. So; I'd like to get a bit more speed going in the corners.
I have spent the last 30 years raising a family and generally being responsible. So I am really out of the loop.
In 2 years I have never seen another Dodge at the track, a shame really, so I have no notes to compare. So; is anyone out there doing the same thing? Any suspension upgrades? How about the tire/wheels? any improvement there?
