Offer him 24,600 - 500 = 24,100 that should make it. My buddy got the offer 24,600 before the 500 rebate.

Were you seeking a smaller car but purchased a CR-V instead? by chintan32

A reporter is looking to speak to consumers who purchased a larger vehicle but had considered a smaller vehicle when gas prices were high. Or if you're holding off on buying a small car because of the downturn in the economy. Please send your daytime phone number to ctalatiedmunds.com by Thursday, March 19, 2009.

Got an offer for $24350 + tax and fees on a brand new 2008 EX-L 2WD w/Nav. Thinking about taking the deal and signing the contract tonight. From the posts I've seen, sounds like its a really good one for Northern CA (SF Bay Area). Any thoughts out there?

Thanks!

Northeast OHIO HONDA CRV-LX AWD by ohbaobei

Hi guys, want to post my first exprience with HONDA dealer on CRV LX AWD 09 model in northeast Ohio. I am waiting for your comments, because I am not sure about the price he offered me.

I told the dealer that i am looking for CRV-LX 09 AWD model for buying. First I had the test drive which made me feel good about the car. Because they only have three colors for LX, I chose "Glacier Blue". Then we came to the price bargin process.

At first, the dealer told me the MSRP is $23,115, and he can give me 694 incentive, but because the car has mudguard and nitrogen gas I need to pay $938 more for that. so plus tax and the documentation fee, my final price will be $25425.

I of course cannot accept that price. i asked for their dealer invoice price but the dealer refused. Then he offered that I do not have to pay $938 for the accessories (mudguard and nitrogen gas), but still I do not think it is a deal. Plus the finiancing APR rate they gave me was 6.99%. OMG, I think it is too high, even though I did not finance a car before but 6.99%??? NO!!!!

So I decided to go to see other dealers but the dealer really wanted to win my business that day. So he agreed to give me discount on his invoice price. Their invoice price is $22,165, and he has to have at least $100 profit, and I need to pay $938 for the accessories, and plus tax and the documentation, this new price is not attracting also. I offered 21,000 as my finaly OTD price but he did not accept.

Finanlly I decided to go and the dealer seemed that he may accpet $22,000 as OTD but had to ask for his manager. Since it is my first time to deal with a dealer and I do not want to be confused so I did not wait for him to get the manager. Plus still I think 6.99% APR is too high.

What do you guys think? Do the accessories really cost $938? and are they worthy? and if the dealer can give me $22,000 as OTD, is it a deal? How can I argue with them to get a lower APR?

Colorado offer - Colorado Springs vs. Denver by denver5357

Bought yesterday a silver/black EX-L AWD for $25,200 + $399 dealer fee at a 4.84% loan for 60 mos. Dealer threw in cargo mat and matching tint on front windows. Best part was that dealer offered $2,000 more on our trade-in (2007 Outback wagon) than any dealer in the Denver area (where I live). One deanver dealer did offer on the CR-V $25,125, but had a $599 dealer fee. This is exactly what I went through 4+ years ago when we bough an Ody ... all the Denver dealers, who are far closer to us in terms of distance, offered at prices higher than the CS dealer and then when I showed them the CS dealer's numbers they threw up their hands (one actually said, "I don't know how they are doing it!"). So we drove down to CS and they honored everything they said in their e-mail - including the trade-in price on a car they hadn't even seen. I love those guys. As far as we can tell, the car and deals are fine and we are pleased.

One dealer is at 21,875 + doc ($151) including the 500 rebate. What is the best way to find out if this is a good deal or to find out how much lower I can get the price. I'm just deciding what dealer to go to right now.

Godeacs,

You are correct, normally RAV4 is little expensive. But Toyota is offering $2000 off of their Value Package. And $750 rebate. So almost 3K back. That makes RAV4, LTD, V4 same (or less) than CR-V EX-L.

Again, I like honda products but as of today there is a clear winner (RAV4) unless you like CR-V's shape and style. I like both shape.

Also don't forget RAV4 comes with "Smart Key", which Honda does not have.
