ANOTHER THOUGHT: Now that Honda has extended the 1.9 - 3.8% APR to the 2009 models... that maybe worth considering if the price difference is a matter of a few hundred dollars. A year depreciation is quite a bit more. As for under the invoice price... I really don't know. From everywhere I have seen, the invoice price + destination charge is about $25,300. My dealer sold it to me for $24,300. Based simply on that, I got it for $1000 under invoice. I am sure they had other incentives... My friend was recently offered $24,500 for a 2009 CR-V EXL AWD w/o Navi. So... knowing that, I would have paid that extra $200 for the 2009 model. Oh well, no regrets. I plan to keep the car for 10 years. I will try and post some pictures, I recently added: hood visor door visor roof rack tailgate spoiler mudflaps side steps all season mats & cargo mat Take care and hope you get your deal.

He drove my car and looked around in there for a while, so he was impressed enough to change his 10 year old Accord. But my friend is in the Chicago area as well. I advised him to do the same thing I did... and he was surprised dealers are giving quotes over e-mail. I like to believe it works. |

| OTD $24100 FOR 08 CRV EX 4WD WITH PROtecton PKG. TAX +DOCU FEE = around $1800 | |
|
My first and only quote so far is $24,365.00. Then they want $710.00 for tint, wheel locks, and splash guards plus the infamous doc fee of $349.00! Add tax and dmv fee and OTD is $27,893.00. Anyone with experience in the PHX area?

After about twenty minutes working the phones, I found two dealers in Madison, WI and Milwaukee, WI were willing to go below invoice for a 2009 CR-V EX-L AWD w/ NAVI (Glacier Blue), but I only negotiated with dealers that had the actual car in the lot. I worked in the following add-ons AT dealer cost: - Wheel locks - Splash guards - All season mats - Trunk tray - Door edge guards - Chrome exhaust tip ACTUAL dealer cost is $454 including labor. I got that in writing from the dealer, which I believe to be true since it's lower than the parts total if I bought them from www.handa-accessories.com and shipped them to my own home. The invoice price difference between an 08 and 09 CR-V is $450 for this particular trim. Tell the dealer it makes no sense to buy an 08 if you can offset one year's worth of depreciation (typically $1000 or more a year) by paying for an 09 upfront. Dealers will understand this and be willing to work with you. So I successfully negotiated 09 CR-V EX-L AWD w/ NAVI (Glacier Blue) at 08 invoice price ($27,068 incld destination) + $454 in add-ons + 5.5% tax ($1489) + $125 title/fees and extra negotiating to beat the competition = $28,750 OTD. That comes up to $826 below the 09 invoice price+dest. Both dealers were willing to do this. Under invoice for 2009 and DEALER cost for add-ons is always possible, and who knows, someone out there may even do better. I'm helping a friend buy her first Honda, and I get a free steak dinner in return. And free season mats and key chain for me from the dealer for the referral.
