Since the price difference is small, I think you better have 4WD instead of 2WD.

The car is not a year old until someone buys it. On the lot it is a brand new car.

OK the Value of the car is about 3K less, then the 2009.
I do not see any great deals then, even by paying the invoice, or -$300-500. Even if you pay $3K more for the 2009, it is still a better value.

1.9% financing on the '08, though....

If you trade every three years, then the '09 might be a better buy.. If you drive it for six years, then I'd take the $4000 savings (including the financing) over the '09.. The difference in value down the road will only be around $1000, assuming you keep it...

Either way, the CR-V is a pretty good value..

If it sits on the lot untill 2010 it should still be sold as a new car even though it's a 2008?

For sales reporting, yes. However I dont see this in the Honda world as you would in Chrysler or even Volvo. Usually the manufacturer will provide the dealer with a pretty big incentive on all remaing close-outs (like you see on the Odyssey and Ridgeline right now).

kyfdx, I do agree with you.
I have a 2004 EX under 50,000 miles, was going to get a 2008, but with my calculations, just like with yours it no big deal.
The 1.9% is for 36 months or under, I would be doing 60 months thats 3.9%.
From what I see the sales are very slow now, and I am sure with the interest rates down to almost 0%, gas prices are down, we will see some great deals in Jan. on 2009s.
