That may be... But, he is a member of our forums...

Who is to say that he can't help other members, who aren't his customers?

It's a little bit of a stretch to think that he spends time here to increase profits at his dealership... I've not seen any posts that would make me think that..

Of course, you are free to ignore any advice that you don't find useful.

What is a good price for a crv 4wd ex l w/navi ? please let me know if that includes destination, ttl. I live on the boarder of pa and nj and there are a lot of 2008s crvs. I am 57yrs old and this will probably be my last car or should I wait for newer energy efficent models? I have a 2005 crv se 4wd with 20,000miles on it,

Heck 20K miles, keep it and run the wheels off. Save your cash.

Sbi, given that you apparently only keep your car for a few years, let's hope this 2008 is NOT your last car, lol. Since you want a new car as opposed to NEEDING one, you have even more negotiating leverage than someone who has to act immediately. If prior years are any indication, '08s will be for sale in quantity for the next couple months. As stated in earlier posts, you're going to want to stay within a few hundred dollars of the dealer net/net cost, or around $26,200. You'll have a better chance at your target price by waiting till the end of the month. Also, if your 2005 SE is in good condition, I'd consider selling it yourself as it should be an easy sale.

Having said that, there will definitely be a lot of energy efficient vehicles coming down the pipeline over the next few years. The CR-V will probably get a diesel in 2010 (the US market will have to embrace diesels eventually), other manufacturers are bringing some of their more fuel efficient European models over, and new hybrids are on the horizon. There will be a lot to look forward to. What's the hurry?

I just got a price quote on a 2wd EX-L for $24000 plus tax, tag, and doc fee. Do you think this is a good deal? Or should I press for more off?

CR-V EX-L AWD Price Paid by chicubs

Just paid $25,400 (+TTL) for an 08 EX-L AWD w/o Navi. This was the best I could do with the 5 Columbus, OH area Honda dealers. Good, but not a great price. After 4 days, I'm very happy with the car. Very well built. Great sales experience. When I came to pick up and pay for the car, I was out of there in 50 minutes, which is about 2 hours quicker than any of the other new cars I've purchased over the past several years.

I am looking to buy 2008 Honda CR-V LX or EX in Boston. The best quote I have so far 20,500 for LX and 22,500 for EX. The quote doesn't include taxes. Do you know if I can get a better deal?

Go to Boch Honda- Norwood. I bought an all wheel drive new 2008 CR-V EX three weeks ago there for $22,000 plus $298.00 doc fee + tax and title, no other fees. I think I saw that they were running an ad thereafter for certain model #s of the same car for $21,888 or something like that, but what fees that included I do not know. Take a printout of this message with you to prove that in fact someone just got the $22,298.00 price. Good luck!

Thanks crvhappy. It looks like sparklinks got the same for 21,800. I will see if they can match the price.
