Because it's a hard objection to overcome at times. For some reason, customers see a price here they assume they can get the price at my dealership. But, they dont average the pricies out - they pick the lowest one on the board then think thats it, they wont pay a penny more!

"Oneupmanship" Hmmmmm, I wonder where I heard that one????? LOL.

I recently moved to Minneapolis & just started to look for a car. Please advise dealer info & how much you ended up paying for a new Honda CRV.

Price for 2008 EX, 2WD in SF? by cpr1

I am hoping to buy a 2008 EX with 2WD in the San Francisco Bay Area this week. I have asked for internet quotes from three dealers, but only one has responded. This one (Oakland) is offering the car at $21,900. This seems an okay price and is about $150 lower than Costco. But I wonder whether I can do better? Any input would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Mnpls, your right, I didn't think about that, lol. Perhaps we should only list the highest prices that dealers want to sell for, because everyone is stupid and won't understand that not everyone can get a great deal. We are all just a bunch of lemmings, don't you know. None of us can think for ourselves; we need a knowledgeable car salesman to help us. Please let us know if that's what you'd like us to do.

Like I said, I really hate it when dealers whine. Here's a thought, stop trying to gouge every customer, and maybe, just maybe, boards like this won't be needed.

I think Turbododge really hit the nail on the head.

Went to Boch Honda in Norwood Mass. on friday the 12th I received the advertised sale price for the CRV EX 4x4 $21588 +$670 destination charge plus tax and tags=$23593. I was waited on immediately. There was no pressure at all. I was not pressured into taking any extras including extended warranties. I was there for a total of 2 hours. They are delivering the car to me on Wednesday the 17th free of charge. Thank you CRVhappy. I would never have known about this dealer if it wasn't for your post.

"On the other hand, you can buy a USED 2007 with 25000 miles on it for $23995.00 so that may be a better option. Why buy a new car for less then you can buy a used one?"

Fabfive, you only paid $22,258? Great price! Of course your doc fee is about $250 higher than Minnesota has, which puts actual cost at about $22,500, but it is still $1495 less than the Minneapolis Honda dealer wants to charge for a used one, lol. Apparently we shouldn't post this type of information for fear that everyone will think they can get such a good deal. It sounds like some dealerships realize they need to get rid of their '08 inventory.

We bought at Beurkle Honda. Paid $23951 for a yet to be built 2009 2WD EXL in Glacier Blue. Since we made the deal over a month ago, and the the new pricing wasn't available, we will pay the price difference from 2008 to 2009 (a bit under $400). This is very close to invoice minus holdback and is a very good price. Their pricing isn't quite as good on 4WD as there is more demand for them and they turn over quicker. Beurkle was very good to deal with, polite and professional. When given offers and options, it was a simple yes or no, without a lecture or tantrum. It should be here in late October or early November.

STAY AWAY FROM ANY DEALER IN THE LUTHER GROUP, ESPECIALLY BROOKDALE HONDA.

Just purchased a 2008 CRV-EX 2WD for $23,400 OTD (inclusive of pro-pack) with the 1.9% financing. Is this a competitive price? Any input would be appreciated.
