Hello everyone and I hope that you are having a very nice day. We are interested in purchasing a new 08 Honda CRV EX AWD now. There are two dealers in our city and their inventory appears to be not moving over the last month. One dealer has 29 CRVs and the other has 12. The best offer so far is $23,300.00 which means we should probably wait till the end of the month for the 2009 CRVS? The internet manager tells me that his cost on the unit is approximately $23,100.00. My offer was $22,500.00. The offer does not seem worth eating a year of depreciation. We have to consider the price increase for 09 also which we have not seen. My feel for the market is that the local economy is struggling and Honda may have to offer more of an incentive to move these cars. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

One thing that does have to be taken into consideration at this time is whether or not you'll be taking advantage of the preferred financing. The 1.9% for 24-36 mos, or the 3.9% for 36-60 mos. can be a savings of over $1000 compared to market rates. I'd still be hard pressed to pay much more than $22,800 for the model year old vehicle, unless it's for a color that is in short supply.

These cars have about 6,000 miles on them and are considered used cars. Honda has no specific rule in place about selling used Honda's to Canadians. Since you'll be importing the car to Canada, the warranty will be VOIDED, but most dealers will have an after-market warranty available that is valid in Canada. |
