What is a realistic (and good) price range to pay for a 2008 Honda CRV EX-L this late in September? I hear the 2009 models should be coming out next month. I live in a suburb of a major city and there are several Honda dealerships in my area. WOuld it be worth it to wait a few more weeks to see if the prices will drop even more?

so would 23,091 be a good price to pay for an '08 4WD EX CRV in the Seattle area? this is including destination.

Deals won't get better.

What will happen is the selection will get picked over and you may have to settle for a color or model you don't want.

Believe it or not, prices will RISE as inventories dwindle. Happens every year. Don't outsmart yourself on this.

Thanks for the feedback!

I ended up purchasing a 2008 CR-V EX with roofrack options (WI)

OTD Price 24,500 with $2000 trade in = $22,500

My car wasn't even worth 2K -- so was thrilled with that.

I used alot of pricing off of this site to base my neg. on!
Very thankful for this site, it let me walk into this alot more educated!

Just thought I would leave some final notes on the pricing!

Sidsid, if the $23, 091 price includes your roughly $900 list of accessories, that would be a great price, but I doubt it does. Keep in mind, I said the target should be within a few hundred of the $22,400 price. That takes into consideration things such as doc fees, etc. If the doc fees aren't providing much profit to the dealer, then $22,700 - $22,800 would be an OK price, especially if you can get the financing incentive. Keep in mind, the AWD EX is the bread and butter model. These will be plentiful in the '09 model, and will be available for around $300 over invoice, or about $23, 800 most everywhere in the US, with a little effort. Only you can decide how much you're willing to pay for a vehicle that is one model year old.

thanks for the info mquillen! i guess my huge problem that i'm having is i am having trouble getting anyone to sell for less than 23,091, and no that price does not include my list of accessories. the doc fee is $50.

Dealer won't budge below 26650 (not including TTL). Should I throw in the towel and pay or try somewhere else?

Sidsid, given that the doc fee is low, a higher target base price is acceptable. Your price is essentially invoice price (not terrible, but not great at this point in time). How many '08s are available in your area? How many dealers have you shopped? Are there any '09s on the lot? As we approach the end of September there will be some good deals. The financing deals being offered allows the dealers to be firmer on pricing, but great deals can still be had. If you can't get the preferred financing, however, at the price you're being quoted, I think I'd wait for an '09, unless you have to have the car right now.

Iowa, in the middle of the model year, the $26,650 price you're being quoted would still be at least $$650 high. Now, it's ridiculously high, by at least $1,600 or more. An '08 AWD EX-L is just not worth that at this time, even with the preferred financing. The financing does make a difference though, and can be about a $1000 savings over the course of a loan when compared to market rates. So that should be taken into consideration at some point in negotiations..
