Hi guys! This is my first post! I've never bought a new car before so i have lots of questions, i'm a total newb and need help. I'm ready to buy a crv this weekend and just started getting in quotes from dealers. so far, the lowest i am getting is 23,091 which i am told is invoice plus destination fee. now here's where i'm confused, if i ask for less they say they cant do it because they "cant" go any lower or they lose money. where do i find the actual dealer price the dealers pay for these cars, all i can find is invoice? and the dealers say they lose money if the sell below invoice. but that's not true right? they lost money if they sell below dealer's cost. the post by mquillan on page 379 of this thread says we, as buyers, should be paying close to actual dealer cost which at the time of the post on sept 1st was: EX AWD $22,403 according to the poster. i said i wanted to pay 22,800 and the reaction was like i told the dealer his mother is ugly. so, what should i pay for a 2008 crv EX 4WD ? the accessories i want are spoiler, cargo tray, fog lights (though can honestly live without these for a while) and front mud guards. i'm getting quotes from 900 - 1200 for those accessories including install. i just haven't a clue how to get that 22,400 price and now that i read its what i should shoot for, i really want it! edited to add: i'm in the seattle area, is this not a great area to get a good deal?

Replying to: thompsonhkay (Sep 09, 2008 9:25 am) I ended up purchasing a 2008 CR-V EX with roofrack options (WI) OTD Price 24,500 with $2000 trade in = $22,500 My car wasn't even worth 2K -- so was thrilled with that. I used alot of pricing off of this site to base my neg. on! Very thankful for this site, it let me walk into this alot more educated! Just thought I would leave some final notes on the pricing!
