It's always good to know the selling price, money factor and residual of the car you are leasing...

But, in the end, you are renting the car by the month.. All things being equal (term, mileage allowance, money due at signing), then the most important number is the payment!!

I'm sure used Civics are valuable... But, your Civic has $1000 of damage and you are going over your allotted mileage. The dealer may make money on the vehicle, but I doubt you could. Not only that, your car is now out of warranty. That's a $28K vehicle.. A lease payment of $330/mo. for 3yr/45K including tax is a great deal. CR-Vs aren't famous for having good lease deals, and this is one of the best I've seen..

I don't know the current MF/residuals for the CRV, but I know there aren't any screaming lease deals, or we would see posts everywhere about them..

Be glad to get rid of that Civic, and be happy that you've locked in a decent payment for the next three years on a pretty nice car!!

regards,
kyfdx

With all due respect, I used to be a purchasing manager for Honda of America Mfg., so I DO get it. I know how Honda negotiates their parts pricing as well as their raw materials. I also understand Honda's year over year "cost down" goals. When you consider Honda's considerably lower amortization costs (because of their volumes), and their purchasing strength in the industry, I assure you, they are taking advantage of their market position. Of course you're entitled to your opinion.

Planning on Purchasing this vehicle this week.

Ask for OTD Pricing from dealer with roofrack option, this was what I was quoted:

21,196 Sale Prices
119 Service Fee
1,193.64 WI Taxes
93.00 State transfer fees

Total 22,601.64

I want to make sure I am educated on pricing when going in to discuss.
Any feedback on whether this is in range with fair pricing? How much better can I do?

Thanks!!!

The roof rack is bolt-on and is easily installed in less than an hour. It can be had on-line for about $200, which would put reasonable installed retail at about $280 - $300 max. An '08 LX AWD can be purchased in many regions at close to dealer net/net cost, or about 20,400. That would put your vehicle price including the rack at about $20,700. Some people have done better than this price. If you can get the color you want within a couple hundred of this price (including the "Service Fee") I'd consider that a good deal at this point in time.

Either find another dealer or go get a 2008 RDX Nav for a little over $30k plus taxes. You'll still be getting a Honda, and saving some money. That price is wayyyyy too much. If you're planning to spend that much money, premium gas shouldn't be an issue.

With all due respect, I used to be a teenager, that dosen't make me a Jonas Brothers expert.

Yes, purchased a 4x4, EX-L at Markley in Fort Collins for $25,278 plus taxes only. Use the internet sales dept: http://www.markleymotors.com

Honda of Greeley and Frontier Honda in Longmont had good prices as well. Let them compete. Locations in Denver wanted a lot more and were rude.

Not a good deal. $27,959 would appear to be close to MSRP, which makes no sense right now. An '08 AWD EX-L can be had under $25K in many regions at this point in time. If that's all that is available to you (some areas don't have many dealerships) it would be better to wait for an '09.

If you are a DIYer the wood kit, which I just installed myself, can be had for under $200 on the net. Although it's a little tricky, it's not difficult--just requires a steady hand and 45 minutes to an hour. If not, $280 -$300 installed retail is a fair price. Also consider the internet for the rear armrest tray. It sounds like the dealer is charging dearly (or would that be dealerly ) for these accessories.

Lastly, unless the Honda all weather mats a a really good deal, you might consider the WeatherTech floor liners--better product. Honda's cargo tray is better, however, if easy access to the cargo loops are needed.
