Don't want a Ford, Chevy, or KIA or other junk. I like the fact my passenger can input addresses into the NAV without having to pull over( RAV-4). The reason I posted here was to see what others were paying for a similar CR-V. The dealer I spoke to is giving me, I think, about 30% off on options and accessories, but isn't breaking on the MSRP. Replying to: osasap (Sep 04, 2008 5:33 pm) Osasap, I think your last message is in response to the dealer costs I posted, and the fact that I stated dealer cost should be the price target at this point in time, or thereabouts. That was because I felt some buyers weren't getting the deals they should be getting on 2008s. Some of us analyze this stuff to death, and we incorrectly assume all do. Regardless, there will always be someone somewhere with a lower price. However, the trade off might be not getting the color or trim level that you want. Also, I don't know what area you are in. Some areas are clearly more competitive price wise than others. Enjoy your car, you got an OK deal.

On the Honda SUV forum, a poster made a post about a Honda incentive of $1200 off INVOICE on CR-Vs, and also the 1.9% to 3.9% financing deals. The financing deals are well publicized, but this is the first I've seen of the $1200 off INVOICE. That would be about $500 below dealer cost on an AWD EX model.

Replying to: kipperdog (Sep 06, 2008 7:25 pm) If my calculations are correct, that would put sale price of the vehicle, assuming no accessories and no vehicle trade, at about $22,642--about $239 over dealer cost. And that attractive finance rate saves about $1K over 3 years, compared to a market rate loan. Not a bad deal.

American Honda has announced they are raising MSRP on all models of the 2009 CR-V by $395. That's an increase of about 1.9% on a 2wd LX, and about 1.39% on the top trim level 4WD EX-L NAV. Destination will remain at $670. First off, according to my sources Honda did not have steel contracts coming due this year for their US plants . The mills have passed along some surcharges, however. Secondly, Toyota is also feeling significant cost imact, but they've left their base model pricing the same as that for the 2008 RAV 4. Honda pricing is higher across the board. If that isn't taking adavantage of their market leadership I don't know what is. This isn't a slam against Honda--it's just business. Honda has very successfully established the CR-V as THE premium crossover within the moderately priced segment.
