All, After some research, I have decided to go for a 2008 CRV EX-L 2WD without Nav in the DFW (Dallas / Fort Worth) area. Here is what I got from my first dealer after a 2-hr session with him: MSRP: 25,500 Destination and Handling: 670 Protection (wheel locks, mud guards, cargo net): 699 Pin Stripe: 299 Discount: -1,641 Sales Tax (6.5%): 1,638 Tag/Registration: 59 Smog: 21 Title: 33 Deputy: 5 Doc Fees: 50 Road and Bridge: 13 ----------- Total OTD 27,346 The add-ons like protection and pin stripe are already on the vehicles on the lot. Are any of the items mentioned above negotiable? He said that the $1,641 discount is really good. No 0.9% financing available on this car since it is very popular. Any inputs? Thanks! |

Bought this last night -- San Antonio TX area -- good dealership - hardly any pressure -- 2008 CRV-EX L w/ NAV. MSRP 27,890. Only add on was some Bogus "Protection Package" for $495 Sothat bought the car MSRP price up to to 28395. Dealer sold me the car for 24,995 before TTL. so bascilly i got 3400 off MSRP No other fees but TTL - No doc fee, or any other bogus fees. Finance guy almost cotst me and the dealership the sale though -- he would not -- and I mean NOT - no matter howmuch i told him NO - stop trying to sell me the stupid extended warranty for $1500. he kept telling me that I was making a killing on the price of the car and that I could easily afford the Extended Warranty package. Finally when i stood up to leave he got scared - and i mean scared - i told him thats it -- I'm gone .. and got my papers and as actually going to go and find the general mgr and complain .... 25 minutes after that -- i am driving off in a new car... No DOC fee and they waived the Destination Charges

MSRP is $21,370 Car selling price: $19,450 (dest. included) total out of door: 20450 ( 3% NC Tax here) Got better prices from other dealers but don't wanna bother driving 1-2 hours just for saving $100 or so, Auto Honda is the closest on to my home.. |

I received a few quotes online. It took a bit of pushing but got about 5 dealers to give me a breakdown. I had a few questions before proceeding with the purchase One dealer was approximately $1500 below invoice Two dealers were approximately $700 below invoice One dealer was at invoice One was approximately $200 over invoice The one dealer is the closest to my home. The red flag to me is how he can be so far below everyone else? I asked multiple questions and it seems legitimate. What sort of "tricks" can they pull? Once I decide on a dealer, what do I need to know when I am there? I am not a "car" person so will need help. When you guys purchased your cars, did you have someone knowledgeable with you to give the car a once over Anything else I should know? Thanks |

Replying to: nayak (Aug 28, 2008 1:12 pm) Good Morning To All. I too was very interested in the CR-V EX-L. After visiting dealerships & doing the home work, I decided to give the Outlander SE a "look". I wanted to remove all doubt that the CR-V EX-L was the clear winner for me. Bottom line, I purchased the 2008 Outlander SE 4WD, bluetooth, cargo cover & navigation system - OTD $27,100. The Outlander had everything I wanted in a SUV & more. The warranty was also a big plus. I am not here to change anyone's mind, just a suggestion to compare if you already haven't. May we all find what fits our budget & needs.

Replying to: makemyday (Aug 29, 2008 4:15 am) sound good? essentially: $24,289 - tax ~$1,747 - tags ~$220 ------------------------- ~$22,322 is what i estimated as the sales price. i did not take into account any other fees like destination or doc since I only requested out the door pricing. |

Hi, I got an internet price quote of 24772 for the above model that I want to purchase. This price is lower than the invoice quoted on edmunds.com. I wonder how much is the dealer hold back. What does any one thinks? This is without tag, tax, license, registration, and accessory fee. With all these fee, I am looking at additional 9%. The only accessory I want would be the wheel lock. I am giving my 08 EX-L without Navi to my brother so I am back on the market for a one with Navi. Thanks
