CRV AWD EXL w/ Nav in NY by gogetem

I purchase AWD EX-L w/ Nav at Huntington honda for $27,200 plus tax, dmv and tire fee. No add'l destination charge. I tried to get them down to $27,000, but couldn't.
I am also having the remote start installed for $450 and am considering the 7 yr, 84000mile extended warranty for $1145.
Any thoughts on this price?
Going to pick up car tomorrow.
Also, received 5 yr loan w/ 4.49% from Chase thru the dealer.

Like I said a couple of pages ago, I *strongly* urge people to use the "Donkey Punch" method of negotiating. If you follow the steps, you will save thousands, guaranteed. I got a $25,200 out the door price (AFTER taxes) on a CR-V EX-L 2WD using this method. Base price was around $23,100 and change. I picked up the car this past weekend. I blew the Edmunds "What Other People Are Paying" price out of the water by nearly $2,000.

The only thing I did in addition to what he said was create an Excel spreadsheet of every dealer's offer, broken down by base price, destination (if not already included), doc fees, tax, and TTL. Then when I got follow-up calls/emails from dealerships, it was easy to pull up the info on their prices compared to others. Being able to quote to-the-dollar exactly how bad a dealer's offer was when compared to my best offer was a powerful, powerful negotiating tool. This little bit of obsessive-compulsiveness on my part saved me a ton of dough.

Here's the link that explains it all:

It works. Period.

Donkey Punch?

A 2WD EXL for 23,100?

That is over 1200.00 BELOW invoice on a CRV that has no incentive money on it.

You got a heck of a deal, what dealership did you purchase from? Hard to believe a dealership would go that much under invoice on the CRV, might have to contact them.

You can save $1145 by not buying the extended warranty. Bank that money. My Honda experience goes back to '74, & I've never owned one that would've justified the purchase of an EW.

I bought my '06 CR-V from Huntington Honda. The F&I guy with whom I worked almost burst into tears when I told him that there was nothing that he could say to me that would convince me to buy an extended warranty. This is obviously a high-profit item for them.

Willett Honda in Morrow, GA (south metro Atlanta). PM me for specific contact info. I wonder if they have some April incentive or something because even I was surprised how low they were willing to deal. The deal was totally legit, no strings attached. All the paperwork was just as we'd negotiated.

Actually, I had two other area dealerships offering me $25,300ish out the door, so I had several backup options in that same ballpark price range.

(I had prearranged 3.9% financing through my credit union, which the dealership couldn't match, and they gave me the same price Carmax quoted for my trade-in. I didn't tell them I had a trade-in until I arrived at the dealership. All my negotiation was on price alone.)

Looking in Georgia - ATL by dladyb

Hello friends, I am looking in Atlanta Georgia and nearby for a 2007 (new) or 2008 CRVEX 2WD. What would be a good OTD price? Any good experiences with a trade in? Of course, I will take the wonderful advice of not mentioning that I have a trade until after the negotiating is done. I have requested a quote today from several dealers. Want to be ready.
Thanks

They must have quite an incentive to move that model, here I've been looking at the LX model but none are close to invoice let alone that much below invoice.

I'll never understand this advise.

Your trade in is worth the same amount of money. If you spring it on a dealer after the fact, it doesn't matter.

Any smart salesperson will smell it anyway.
