I told them I had a lower price on a CR-V 2WD when going there the other week and the sales guy pulled out his phone and told me to call the dealership and take the deal! when I would not tell him who offered it to me. He was starting to get really pissed off' when he couldn't 'work me'.   Sounds like this dealer called your bluff, and when you folded, he knew he could do whatever he wanted.

Weekly rental of a bottom-feeder subcompact will be at least $150, i.e. considerably more than a new car payment on a per-week basis. How many weeks or months of doing this will it take before the savings between the good CR-V deal you could get right now, and the elusive "killer" deal you're hoping to get, are wiped out? Not many. And in the meanwhile, you're driving a POS subcompact instead of enjoying your new CR-V.

I live in Jacksonville, FL and I'm willing to pay around $24,500 OTD for an 08 CRV EX AWD. I would even drive to GA or anywhere in FL to pick it up if I get a good deal. Any suggestions?

I purchased my AWD EX-L with navigation from a dealership in Kentucky. I paid $27,034 ($1 over Edmunds' invoice) and received all accessories (parts + labor) at a 10% discount. Of course, taxes, doc fee, license were extra. Overall, I was pleased with my deal, which was offered up front without the need for negotiation.
